PERFECTLY MARVELOUS

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I had a perfectly marvelous day yesterday – it was like summer compared to the day before, with temperatures in the twenties. It was a long and arduous day of playing the new Nudie Musical material for various and sundried people, including the final two candidates to direct. I’ll be speaking to each of them one more time next Monday and then I must make the critical and difficult decision of who to hire. Once that’s done, we’ll get serious about setting dates for its first tryout. The reaction to the new songs by all was very wonderful, so that made me feel very good indeed. Our very own Theresa Finamore and Kristofer helped out with various dialogue sections and they even managed to learn (overnight) three of the songs so that we could have all the parts sung at once. My neck and back are killing me from all the sitting hunched at the piano, but I shall have a massage Thursday evening and that will be lovely. All in all, it was a perfectly marvelous day. I also hired a choreographer for our upcoming film, the delightful Jen Cody (of Urinetown), who will also appear on camera as well.

After the long and arduous day, we had a perfectly marvelous evening, supping at Joe Allen. Theresa and Kristofer were there as well as my pal, Lori Doyle, who is about to stage manage The Look of Love for the Roundabout. Christianne Noll was there later, with her Godfather, and it was perfectly marvelous to see her pretty face. I have added her to the Tourette’s Syndrome benefit cast, so we’re very excited about that.

Well, I really must hurry these notes along because in but a few moments I shall be on my way to the airport. So, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below so I can write the perfectly marvelous next section.

Have I mentioned that I had a perfectly marvelous day and evening yesterday? I did. Oh, I forgot to also mention that I met the lovely and talented Lauren Ward who stopped by our table to say “hey” to Lori (who stage managed her in 1776).

Well, I hate to give this section short shrift but I believe I must go downstairs and get in a car now. So, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must fly home on Jet Blue, I must sit on the airplane for approximately five hours and then I shall be driven home where I shall rest and recuperate. Isn’t that exciting? Isn’t that just too too perfectly marvelous? We’ll take a break from our decade by decade favorite movies topic because today is Ask BK Day, the day in which you get to ask your excellent questions. So, ask away, and I shall join in the festivities upon my return to Los Angeles, California.
