THE VERY STRAIGHTFORWARD NOTES

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, here it is, Friday, and I must once again hurry along with these here notes. So much to do, and then on top of all that I must get to the cleaners, pack, go to the Xerox place and a million other things, so that I am ready to leave on Sunday morning. I haven’t even figured out how I’m getting to the fershluganah airport and I am flying an airline that’s new to me (Jet Blue – I didn’t book the flight) and one has to fly out of Long Beach rather than LAX. I am still debating about a Sunday chat, as I have a meeting that evening after I get in, but my intention is to try to do it. Also, dear reader Susan and I have made the decision about a Hainsies/Kimlets get-together, which will occur Monday evening. If it’s possible for you to attend, e-mail her or me. We’re thinking seven-ish. Or, if Monday’s just too crazy for people, let me know if Sunday or Tuesday evening is better and I’ll see how crazy my schedule is for those nights. I hear it is colder than cold, and I’ve been warned to bring very warm clothing which, of course, I would do if I had any. In any case, I am looking forward to the trip.

It looks like we’ve added the marvelous Judy Kaye to our Tourette’s Syndrom benefit. I’ll have more updates by the end of this week, and complete ticket-ordering information for all Hainsies/Kimlets.

Tonight I shall be attending a wrap party for Penn and Teller’s Bullshit, somewhere in Hollywood. I don’t really care for these things but I’m going anyway.

My goodness these notes are chockfull of information today, aren’t they? Not much else, however – for example, I find no pith in these here notes, I find no wit in these here notes. Did you know if you added an “h” to “wit” you’d have “with” and that if you took an “h” away from “pith” you’d have “pit”? I find that fascinating, don’t you, dear readers? So fascinating, in fact, that I feel we must all click on the Unseemly Button below because that is all there is left to do in the face of such a fascinating thing.

I had very bad dreams last night, but I shall not talk about them because who wants to hear about such things? Some bad dreams are interesting, some are just plain bad and should be forgotten as quickly as possible. My goodness, these notes are very straightforward today, aren’t they? Which is better than them being crookedbackward, I suppose. Yes, let’s keep these notes straightforward, shall we?

Mr. Mark Bakalor has said that our Unseemly Photo Gallery of Hainsies/Kimlets will be up very soon, sooner than soon, almost immediately, in the blink of an eye, asap, maybe even by the end of today, tomorrow or next Thursday. I will, of course, let you all know when that momentous moment occurs.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must finish everything I’m working on, print it out, have copies made, pack, do errands, book transportation, and so forth and so on and so on and so forth. I am sorry there was not more pith and wit in these here notes, as well as with and pit, but you must admit that they are very straighforward. Perhaps tomorrow, when I answer all your excellent questions we shall have pith and wit. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Friday, so what is in your CD and DVD/video players? I’ll start – CD, the soundtrack to Never So Few and Seven Women (by Hugo Friedhofer and Elmer Bernstein respectively), DVD, Shampoo and Victim. Your turn.
