THE VERY INFORMATIVE MONDAY NOTES

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, we had a splendidly splendid lively and sparkling chat last night. There was a lovely roomful of people and we discussed many various and sundried topics and it was most amusing. Isn’t that exciting? Isn’t that just too too?

It is Monday, my first day of non-work in ten weeks. However, I shall be proofing, carefully proofing, all the livelong day, so that is indeed work or, to put it another way, that is work indeed. I also need to catch up on a few things that I got backlogged on during my working weeks.

Yesterday, I checked out the new Warner Bros. DVDs. The Adventures of Robin Hood, while not perfect, does look rather nice and better than I’d thought on my first look. The Treasure of Sierra Madre looks very nice, although according to some who’ve posted on a DVD ng, there is a digital glitch for eleven seconds towards the one-hour mark. Yankee Doodle Dandy also looks lovely and I’m looking forward to watching all of them in their entirety. Each of these sets includes a second disc loaded with extras, too.

If you missed any of the goings on here over the weekend I’d really play catch up if I were you, and I’d also play ketchup if I were you. Those who were here made lovely posts, and while I can’t say I wasn’t disappointed in our traffic over the weekend, what did go one here was cherce. So, use the Unseemly Archive Button and check out what you missed.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because I’ve got a few other things to write about and I don’t wish to write them here. I have no idea why.

There is a brand spanking new entry up in Juliana’s Journal, so check it out. Also, Donald has a brand spanking new radio show up so check it out as well. Also, the Jeepers Creepers CDs are shipping as we speak, so be on the lookout for them.

I did the second half of my Partridge Family interview – it should be up sometime in the next two weeks and I’ll provide a link to it once it is. The interviewer asked loads of lovely questions and I gave him loads of hopefully-lovely answers and the whole affair should simply be too too.

I have installed AOL 9.0 from a CD they sent me. As you may remember, I downloaded 9.0 from the Internet and it was riddled with bugs (AOL, after some prodding, finally admitted that to me). So, I uninstalled it and waited for the CD to arrive. Everything seems to be working splendidly now and there are some rather amusing and nice features included. If you’re on AOL and going to upgrade do not download it – get the CD.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must proof and eat and eat and proof and I must organize that which has become disorganized. I must do some posting (both here and at the post office) and I must sit on my couch like so much fish. Today’s topic of discussion: I first heard about the “information highway” aka the Internet, way back in the mid-eighties. When did you first use the Internet, what was it like, what did you use it for, how did you get on it, and just tell us your whole first Internet experiences. What was good, what was bad and what was ugly. Let’s have loads of lovely posts and send September out with a bang, shall we?
