Well, dear readers, I have quite a busy day today attending to things that need attending to. I have many errands to run starting very early in the morning, then I have a meeting at my home environment at ten, then a lunch at twelve-thirty, then back here to go through my script and start figuring out where I need to insert between song bits (mostly to allow for costume changes). Tonight is our final rehearsal in North Hollywood – tomorrow night we’ll be at our theater, the Hudson. Tonight I finally get my long-promised assistant, so all the blocking can finally get notated in my script. Last night I finished blocking all the solo and duet numbers, and the cast has been drilling the choreographed numbers for the last three days. Some of our tentative show order feels really good to me, other parts of it I’ll need to wait and see at the run-throughs and with the between-song bits inserted. Poor Tammy got a little food poisoning from our Monday night visit to Jerry’s Deli. Even I was a bit under the weather yesterday from their food. Trouper that Tammy is she made it to rehearsal, we ran her two solos that needed to be staged and she went home to rest. The hard and fun work lies ahead in the next two weeks. Isn’t that exciting? Isn’t that just too too?
Last night I started watching the new DVD of Thunderbirds Are Go, one of two theatrical films made in the sixties from the Thunderbirds television show. It’s quite a strange film, just like the TV series – it’s all marionettes. Still, it has a loopy charm all its own and the transfer is great – 2:35 and enhanced for widescreen TVs. The TV show episodes have a bit more charm to them, but I must say the film looks pretty spectacular for this sort of thing. I do have one question, since it’s been years since I’ve seen the TV shows: In Thunderbirds Are Go all the accents are American – weren’t the TV show voices English? I’ll have a fuller report when I finish this and the other film in the set, Thunderbirds 9.

We had quite a lively and sparkling day around these here parts yesterday – it was a veritable frenzy. And yesterday’s postings proves once and for all or, at the very least, for all and once, that you can have both quantity and quality, at least here at haineshisway.com.
I’m so sore right now – I could really use a top-notch massage from a top-notch masseuse, but that won’t be happening for a while, not with our schedule being what it is. I can’t get the title Thunderbirds Are Go out of my head. It’s quite loopy, isn’t it? Perhaps today’s notes should be entitled BKs Are Go. Yes, that is a fine title for today’s notes. BKs Are Go. Also, every time I type Thunderbirds it comes out Thuderbirds and I have to go back and fix it. I hate that. In any case, BKs Are Go, whatever the hell that means.
