CROOKED NOTES

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I am so tired I can’t even see straight. Yes, you heard it here, dear readers, I am seeing crooked. I had intended to write straight notes but I shall be writing crooked notes on account of I can’t see straight. We all have tomorrow off, but wouldn’t you know that tomorrow is the day she of the Evil Eye comes and I must hie myself away from the home environment for several hours. Then Sunday I have an all-day rehearsal so I can’t catch up on my sleep then. We are entering our intense phase, when this show will either come together or not. I was hoping we’d be finished with the choreography tonight, but we still have the opening number to do – the choreographers and I were not on the same page regarding the opening and it got a bit tense with them. We’re fine now, but they wanted to wait until they could sleep on the number before staging it Sunday morning. But they staged the other two remaining numbers and they look great. It’s now time for the cast to lock these in their heads and that’s what Sunday is for – just drilling the numbers until they’re second nature, because once we start on Monday I will not have time to do cleanups for quite a few rehearsals. I did have time to block a duet tonight, so that’s one more out of the way for me. There is so much to do and time goes so fast. We had a production meeting today but, in terms of the theater, time is on our side since we’ll be in the theater for a week before the load-in was supposed to happen. Because of that, the load-in is actually happening three days earlier than planned, along with the hanging and focusing of the lights. Therefore, tech is starting two days earlier and we’ll be able to have a few more run-throughs before our invited dress. And I wonder why I can’t see straight.

Last night I watched nothing on DVD on account of not being able to see straight. There is nothing worse than viewing DVDs when you see crooked. Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below so I can see if I can straighten the crooked notes and fly right.

She of the Evil Eye – why, if she wasn’t coming I could sleep until the cows come home, but nooooo, I must hie myself away from the home environment to kill time. That is most annoying.

Tomorrow we’ll do an Unseemly Live Chat at six o’clock Pacific Mean Daylight Savings Time and Donald will, of course, have a new radio show up for you to listen to.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must try to see straight, I must try to relax and smell the roses or the coffee or the stench of a thousand maggots feeding on each other. My goodness, that was poetic, wasn’t it? This is what happens when you see crooked. The whole thing is skewed, oh, yes, the whole thing is skewed. Today’s topic of discussion: It occurs to me that we’ve never had a beverage day here at haineshisway.com. So, what are your all-time favorite beverages – morning, noon, and night, both alcoholic and non. I don’t drink alcohol, and it will probably come as no surprise that my favorite beverage is Diet Coke – it’s about all I drink, although I occasionally like Ginger Ale and Root Beer (diet, of course). I also like Dr. Brown’s Cream Soda, even though I don’t have it very often. Another thing I love that I haven’t had in years are malts. Your turn. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we? And yes, your posts may be crooked just like the notes.
