GNEKTH KEJJ TI HGHKE TTBJKJ

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I will have to keep these here notes short and sweet, which is, I suppose, better than long and sour. Yesterday was a fifteen hour day and I am totally zoned beyond repair. My eyes can barely focus on my computer screen as I write this, so if a sentence suddenly appears and looks like this – gnekth kejj ti hghke ttbjkj – then you’ll know what the problem is. That sentence, by the way (BTW, in Internet lingo) translates as: I would like to eat a translucent light bulb. Go know. I spent a long and exhausting day with our lighting designer, our stage manager and the fellow who’s running the board, doing the light plot for the show. We got the skeleton of it done today, so we’ll actually be ready to just put the cast in tomorrow and begin running cue-to-cue. However, the lighting designer was not as far along as I’d hoped and he’s still got lights to now refocus and rehang, along with hanging new instruments. Lighting in waiver theater is not great to begin with, and usually it’s because there are not enough dimmer switches and not enough instruments. I do think the show will look fine, I just won’t have as many specials as I’d like, and the area lighting won’t be as defined as I’d like. Still, we make do. Things are moving along, tickets are beginning to sell, our opening night is already overbooked and here’s hoping to a relatively easy tech over the next few days. I’m hoping to start dress rehearsals on Thursday. Jose stopped by the theater with two pies – coconut cream and apple, and those of us who were there truly pigged out.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because soon I will want to be eating a translucent light bulb.

I can’t think, I can’t see, I can’t function and I need my pillow ‘neath my weary head. My goodness that was poetic, wasn’t it? I tell you, all I can think of is gnekth kejj ti hghke ttbjkj – I am obsessed with eating a translucent light bulb ever since I wrote that sentence.

I’m afraid I ate way too much yesterday – for lunch I had half of a foot long Subway turkey sandwich, then coconut cream pie. So far, so good, until Tammy ordered three large pizzas and we all ate five slices. Happily, they were those smallish slices, so it was really like only eating three-and-a-half slices. The whole time I was eating that stupid pizza all I could think of was gnekth kejj ti hghke ttbjkj.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must tech our show for ten out of twelve hours, I must break in my new assistant, I must make sure I’m happy with our light cues, I must block a new bit, and I must teach the company our new finale. Today’s topic of discussion: Fruit. I don’t believe we’ve done fruit before. I am not a huge fan of fruit, but I do like pineapple, cherries, green and red seedless grapes and cantaloupe. So, what are your all-time favorite fruits, and how do you like to prepare them, aside from just eating them raw – do you like making dishes with them or special desserts with them. Anything fruit, that’s what I’m talkin’ about. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we?
