DON’T RAIN ON MY PARADE

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, here it is, Sunday, as we begin a brand spanking new week. This shall be quite a week if I have my druthers. First of all, I’m hoping to be through with my script by the end of the week. Tomorrow I have a dentist appointment. I have lots of people to talk to this week, and there are lots of book details that I need to deal with, in terms of my order and when and where signings are going to occur in the next month. I also will be mixing and pressing the Writer’s Block CD this week. Isn’t this just a busy week, and it hasn’t even begun yet. I shall be in fine spirits this week and I don’t wish anyone to rain on my parade. In return, I shall not parade on anyone’s rain. Isn’t that a fair bargain? Yesterday, I did end up writing a bit, but spent most of the day doing nothing whatsoever, my favorite way to spend a Saturday. Oh, I drove places, I don’t want you to think I didn’t drive places. I went to a couple of local bookstores, just for fun, for example. Last night I had a splendidly splendid dinner with the Pogue and his ever-lovin’ Julieanne, and it was, as always, delightful. Julieanne and I had our our Combo Louis, and Pogue tried something new (which I shall do next time) – pork chops, which he said were excellently excellent. Leelee Sobieski came in, walked to the front of the restaurant, then walked back out. She is amazingly cute in person, and much taller than she appears on screen. I’d venture to say she’s at least 5’8. Pogue, of course, wrote the new Hercules mini-series in which she stars, although they have never met. They have only been ships passing in the night or cars passing in the night or something passing in the night. Certainly she passed us without so much as a how-do-you-do. I came home and did more nothing. Isn’t that exciting? Isn’t that just too too?

I’ve been watching the extras on the Jerry Lewis DVDs, and some of the bloopers and cut scenes are lots of fun. I will have to watch the films at some point, but I’m gonna go through the Marx Brothers set first.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button before someone tries to rain on my parade. Damn them, damn them all to hell.

Writing the Sunday notes are always a trial for me. Sometimes I’m found innocent, and sometimes I’m found guilty but acquitted. I am always zonked on Saturday nights by the time I begin writing these here Sunday notes. I am particularly zonked right now because last night, for some reason, I woke up at four in the morning and couldn’t fall back asleep. I finished watching The Curse of the Cat People, which was in my bedroom DVD player. I then promptly fell back asleep but then she of the Evil Eye arrived and I could sleep no longer. I don’t really know the point of this paragraph, do you? Still, don’t rain on my parade. Let me write paragraphs without points if I so choose. One must occasionally write paragraphs without points and no one should rain on their parade if they do so. I’ve had it with people trying to rain on my parade, frankly. Why don’t they snow on my parade, just for a little variety or, at the very least, a little Hollywood reporter? I must stop now, for this way madness lies.

I’ve had it with madness lying, haven’t you? I think it’s time for madness to tell the fershluganah truth. Oh, don’t forget, Donald should have a new radio show up at some point today for your listening pleasure. That, dear readers, is known in the show business as a segue.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must relax and smell the cream cheese, I must tool around in my motor car, I must relax, and I must not write. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s free-for-all day, the day in which you dear readers get to choose the topics and we all get to post about them. Now, I don’t want to say that you dear readers have been lax on recent Sundays, topic-wise, but you dear readers have been lax on recent Sundays, topic-wise. So, let’s get off our collective Hillary Duffs or Howard Duffs and create some good and fun topics. We are having our November sweeps after all, so do not tarry or dally, topic wise, or I shall simply have to rain on your various and sundried parades or parade on your various and sundried rains. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we? We shall.
