Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I must hurry and write these here notes because they are late, late, late (that is three lates). I had a perfectly perfect day yesterday and got quite a bit done. I got a lovely amount of sleep (I was in dreamland the minute my head hit the pillow). Why is my head always hitting the pillow? What did the pillow do to deserve such violence? Where was I? Oh, yes, my perfectly perfect day. I wrote, did some errands, made some phone calls, read some mail, and flitted about like a gazelle in hot pants. Isn’t that exciting? Isn’t that just too too?

Last night I was on the radio for three count them three hours and I had a blast. We played lots of my recordings, a couple of live recordings of our What If show, and the complete recording of Sweet Charity in Dutch. Lots of people called in (including our very own jrand) – in fact, the funniest call was from my Russian masseuse, who just happened to be listening in. We talked about everything under the sun, including Writer’s Block. We gave away to copies of the book to two contest winners. We played songs from Bus and Truck, the Musical. All in all, I had a splendidly splendid time. On the way home, I stopped and got some Dorito’s Cool Ranch chips because I was starving.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below, because I must not tarry or dally nor dally or tarry because I must get these here notes posted posthaste.

I am, in fact, ready for my Russian masseuse to come over and give me a Russian massage, because I am a mass of sore muscle tissue. Perhaps I’ll book her for next week, as a late birthday gift. Uh oh, hold the phone, stop the car, halt the notes.

Speaking of birthdays, I do believe we’d better put on our pointy party hats and our colored tights and pantaloons, I do believe we’d better break out the cheese slices and the ham chunks, I do believe we’d better dance the Hora and the Pachanga, because today is our very own MBarnum’s birthday. So, let’s give a big haineshisway.com Bollywood birthday cheer to MBarnum. On the count of three: One, two, three – A BIG HAINESHISWAY.COM BOLLYWOOD BIRTHDAY CHEER TO MBARNUM!!!

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must do errands, I must write various and sundried things, I must flit about like a gazelle in hot pants, and I must eat various and sundried foodstuffs, including more Parisienne cake. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Friday – what is currently in you DVD/video player and your CD player? I’ll start – DVD, the new Criterion DVD of Fritz Lang’s M. CD (home player) – the wonderful new three CD set of Bronislau Kaper’s Mutiny on the Bounty, and a potpourri of soundtracks from Universal France. CD (car) – an album of Frank Chacksfield playing movie themes of the sixties (love it), and Fred Karlin’s Futureworld. Your turn. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, as we hit our brand spanking new plateau of 80,000 posts, which will definitely happen this very day.
