HAINES 57

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, soon I shall be winging my way back the the City of Studio. I had a splendidly splendid time in New York, New York, and I can’t wait to come back soon (shortly after the first of the year, I think). I’m sorry that some people couldn’t get into town for our gathering, but perhaps next time. I slept quite late yesterday, and then went down to the Village and visited Footlight Records (and yes, Virginia, I bought a few cherce items). It was very rainy all the livelong day, but I managed to stay nice and dry, not necessarily in that order. My next trip in will be at least a day longer, so I’ll be able to actually see some people it would have been nice to see, but whom I couldn’t see because the trip was simply too short. Isn’t that exciting? Isn’t that just too too?

Last night I attended the new Dame Edna show. Dear lurker Iris tagged along, too, as I had an extra ticket. I’m happy to report that the Dame was in fine fettle, despite and audience that was a little slow to warm up. Once the second half began, it was one non-stop belly-laugh after another and one just doesn’t have that kind of hilarity in the theater anymore. If you haven’t seen the Dame, hurry on down to the Music Box and tell them Bruce-o sent you. After the show, I met up with elmore at Joe Allen and a splendid time was had by one and all and also all and one. I must now hurry and finish these here notes because I must be up in a mere three hours from now to go to the airport.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because today has begun and it is a very special day for the likes of me.

Why is it a very special day for the likes of me? Well, I’ll tell you why it is a very special day for the likes of me, because why should I keep such things from you dear, dear people out there in the dark? Today is a very special day for the likes of me because today I have turned a new age. Yes, you heard it here, dear readers, I, BK, have turned a new age. Today I am 57 years of age. It seems like only yesterday that I was 56 years of age. Of course, it was only yesterday that I was 56 years of age. Today I join such products as Heinz 57, a fine product. In fact, this site will now be christened Haines 57 in honor of me. In any case, it would be unseemly of me to throw myself a party, so I’ll just say that I am pleased as punch to be 57 years of age.

I find it hard to believe that I am 57 years of age and yet, according to all known records and CDs I am indeed 57 years of age. I do not feel a day over 56 years of age. Isn’t that marvelous? I feel as young and sprightly as a gazelle doing a back flip whilst eating a cruller. Perhaps in honor of my birthday I shall recount the story of The Randy Vicar and the Heinz 57 Ketchup Bottle. Oh, that’s a good story.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must try to get three count them three hours of sleep, and then I must hie myself to the airport, and then I shall be winging my way back to my beloved Los Angeles, California, USA. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Ask BK Day, the day in which you dear readers get to ask me or any other dear reader any old question you like and we get to provide any old answer we like. I shall, of course, answer all your excellent questions as soon as I get back to the home environment. Let’s have loads of lovely postings here at Haines 57, shall we? Keep the home fries burning and good thoughts in your various and sundried heads.
