HO, HO, HO

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, here we are, on our countdown to Christmas. In the coming days we will be spreading Christmas cheer like a fungus – we shall be bright and shiny and snowy and frosty and we shall be good so that we all get our Christmas presents from Mr. Santa Claus. I’m already in the Christmas spirit – why already I have said, ho, ho, ho (that is three hos) several times. Unfortunately, there were women present and they thought I was calling them a nasty name and they hit me. My advice is to be very careful when saying ho, ho, ho, especially if you are in Hollywood, California, USA. I am still debating whether to have a Christmas tree this year – I’d like to, but then I’d have to go into storage and find the box with the decorations, and who knows if the lights would even work, since I haven’t used them since 1997. We shall see. In the meantime, I must begin doing some Christmas shopping, although I’ve already got the bulk of what I’m giving out this Christmas. Which brings to a conundrum: As most of you may have figured out, I have done up some DVDs of What If, which I’m intending to give out for Christmas. I would love to send each and every one of you a DVD, but don’t have nearly enough. So, I’m trying to figure out a fair and equitable way of giving a few out to a few dear readers, without hurting anyone’s feelings. So, if anyone has any suggestions, please suggest them. One thing I thought of was doing a contest (only for active posters and active hainsies/kimlets) and giving five (or maybe ten) winners the DVD as their prize. What think you of that idea? I’m willing to listen to any thoughts on the matter. Ho, ho, ho.

Yesterday I attended the Christmas “do” of Pogue and the lovely wife, Julieanne. They always do a beautiful spread and yesterday was no exception. There was all manner of food and grog, not necessarily in that order. I met Pogue’s NBC executive on Hercules – it turns out that he’s a fan of my albums and has many of them, so that was very nice. I never stay long at parties, but I had a lovely time whilst there. Otherwise, I just relaxed and smelled the Raisin Bran.

But there will be no more relaxing, for today I dive back into my various and sundried projects, especially the minor polish on the movie script, which I want to turn in by Thursday. I shall work all the livelong morning, take a break to get my mail, the work all the livelong afternoon. In the evenings this week, I fully intend to catch up on my errant and truant DVD viewing.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below whilst getting in the Christmas spirit by saying ho, ho, ho.

I think I must buy some mistletoe or, at the very least, some mistlefinger. And I must buy some tinsel and glamour. I must buy some candy-canes and gingerbread cookies, and I must pick up my Christmas cards so I can send them out to one and all and also all and one. Isn’t that exciting? Isn’t that just too too?

I am going to attempt to not eat very much for the next week-and-a-half, so that I am svelte and lithe for my Christmas Eve “do”. And don’t forget – on the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me, a partridge in a pear tree. Not an apple tree, mind you, no my true love gave to me a partridge in a pear tree. Interestingly, the partridge was singing, “C’mon world, hear the song that we’re singin’, c’mon get happy.”

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must write, I must do errands, I must travel about in my motor car whilst shouting ho, ho, ho, I must do Christmas-y things all the livelong day and night. Today’s topic of discussion: What are your favorite Christmas foods – main courses, side dishes and most especially desserts. Tell us everything, and provide recipes wherever possible. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, as we begin our official countdown to Christmas here at haineshisway.com.
