THE GNU GNOTES

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, the weekend is here and none too soon. If there was one more weekday I was going to scream. But now, because it is Saturday, I shan’t scream, I shall luxuriate in the weekend, I shall bask in the weekend, I shall frolic and cavort in the weekend, not necessarily in that order. And I shall tell the tale of The Randy Vicar and the Gnu. Oh, that’s a good one. And speaking of gnu, what’s gnu? How is the world treating you? Do you have any good gnus? Are there any gnulyweds out there? Has anyone started a gnu diet? If you gnu Susie like I gnu Susie. I do believe I am having delirium tremens, whatever the hell they are. I understand the delirium, but what in tarnation are tremens? I don’t have a clew about these here tremens that always seem to go hand-in-hand with delirium. Are there other kinds of tremens? Are there psychotic tremens? Are there manic depressive tremens? Who here can enlighten us about the fershluganah tremens? Hopefully, we have a tremens expert amongst us. Oh, well, perhaps it’s time to start a gnu paragraph.

Yesterday, I had quite a busy little day, and I achieved everything that I set out to achieve – on a slightly different schedule, but that sometimes happens. Last night, I had a yummilicious dinner with my pal Debby. We went to Stanley’s. We had the coconut shrimp appetizer, which I’d never had before, and which was absolutely delicious. We both had the great Chinese Chicken Salad, and then had their incredible Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough pie with ice cream. It was beyond beyond. It was so excellent that I had delirium tremens whilst eating it.

Last night I watched no motion picture entertainment on DVD, but today I hope to rectify that situation, oh, yes, I hope to rectify that situation.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because frankly this section is giving me delirium tremens, and a gnu section will be just what the doctor ordered.

No, I was wrong. This gnu section is not what the doctor ordered. The doctor ordered a pastrami on rye with cole slaw and a pickle. Speaking of pickles, I have been invited to a screening of The Aviator. I’ve already seen The Aviator, but I haven’t seen The Aviator on a big screen, so I might give it a second chance.

I promised you a sneak peak at our new stats – I’ll have complete information on February 1st, but I can now tell you that this month has been the biggest in our history, both posts-wise and hits-wise and views-wise. I never thought we’d surpass last January’s record, but this January we have definitely set a gnu all-time high. We also have several other new records but I won’t have the complete figures until the first. Isn’t that exciting? Isn’t that just too too?

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must drive about in my motor car, I must go to Staples and Xerox pages, I must deliver pages to my friend Margaret, I must come home and eat and perhaps watch a DVD or three, and then I must decide whether to endure The Aviator again. Today’s topic of discussion: I’m sure we’ve done this before, but let’s do it again – what are your all-time favorite songs from animated films or cartoons? I love Belle, Part of Your World, Just Across the River Bend, A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes, When You Wish Upon a Star, Give a Little Whistle, The Second Star to the Right and quite a few others. Your turn. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, as we face this lovely gnu day.
