TODAY IS THE DAY

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, today is the day. I ask you – where else on all the Internet can you get such information? If I hadn’t said that, I am quite certain that some people would not know that today is the day. But, today is the day and now everyone knows because we are up-to-date and happening here at haineshisway.com. But, before we get to the today is the day part, may I just say that yesterday’s posts were more entertaining than most of the movies one can see? If anyone missed any of it, you simply owe it to yourselves to go check them out. Now, let’s get to the today is the day part. Today is the day that Mr. Mac Man will be coming to the home environment to set up the new Powerbook. You can feel the excitement, so palpable is it. At least you can feel the excitement in these quarters, and also in these dimes and nickels. The excitement seems to be in all my loose change. But, I digress. I didn’t mean to digress, but all of a sudden, without any warning, I digressed. I hate when that happens – a sudden digression out of nowhere. In any case, Mr. Mac Man will be here soon and I shall be offline whilst he begins the arduous task of transferring things from my Dell to the Powerbook. I did unpack the Powerbook last night, and I actually opened it and everything. It’s quite a handsome machine, this Powerbook. Sleek and stylish, like a gazelle doing a triple lutz. I think Mr. Mac Man will be here for three or four hours, so do keep the home fries burning whilst I pace the floor waiting to be a Powerbook user. I’ve made a list of questions for Mr. Mac Man, and hopefully the answers will be simple and easy-to-understand. I will have to go out and purchase whatever wireless port and routers he thinks necessary, and perhaps an Apple mouse as well. Perhaps I’ll have dear reader Panni post updates during the set-up time. So, now you know why today is the day. Isn’t that exciting? Isn’t that just too too?

Despite a very foreboding sky last night, we actually managed to go quite a few hours without even a drizzle or a sprinkle. I forgot to say that I spent quite a sleepless night on Sunday night, which was a good thing, because several ideas that I’ve been thinking about for my new book suddenly began to come very clear and I made lots of notes on my beside pad. I’m getting interested in this idea, and I’m hopeful to start noodling on it within the next couple of weeks. It will be fun to write on the new Powerbook – the keys feel much more firm and are easier to tap on and the keyboard is laid out in such a way that it’s easier on the back, or so the booklet says.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because, after all, today is the day.

Have I mentioned that today is the day? Oh, here’s a little update: Today is still the day. Oh, here’s another little update: Donald has a new radio show up, and there will be another new radio show up on Thursday. Then he’ll be gone for three weeks, and then we’ll start a whole new season with lots of fun shows in store and a few surprises, too. Stay tuned.

I had such a lovely day yesterday – luncheon with Juliana A. Hansen, doing errands (I actually ran out of Writer’s Block CDs and had several orders to ship, so I printed a few more), rehearsing with Mr. Kevin Spirtas, and spending a leisurely evening at home watching Edgar Wallace movies. I never got antsy, I never got annoyed, everything just went along the way I like it to go along, and frankly, that’s my kind of day.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, watch Mr. Mac Man set up my new Powerbook, I must buy wireless thingees, I must then play on my new Powerbook, I must do just a handful of errands, and then I must play on my Powerbook some more. Today’s topic of discussion: Name your ten most-listened-to CDs – the ones you always seem to pull out over and over again, the ones you never tire of. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, because today, after all, is the day. Keep the home fries burning until my returning, and know I’ll be yearning until I can join you all in brilliant discourse.
