MILITARY HUMOR

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, it’s another busy day of running around and picking up things and making ready for my journey to the York of New come Thursday. I’m thinking about buying a new coat – one that will provide a bit more warmth than the usual one I wear. I did look at a few whilst at the mall yesterday, and was rather taken aback at how expensive clothing is these days. I have a couple of stores close to me that I’ll check out today. Aside from that, I have to pick up the book manuscript today, I have to pick up the Writer’s Block CDs, I have to ship the latter to my hotel in New York so they’ll be waiting for me come Thursday, and I have to attend to several other things that need my attention. Not all things need my attention, however. Some things need my at ease. Oh – a little military humor. I do believe this is the first time we’ve even had military humor here at haineshisway.com. Speaking of military humor, I had a very busy day yesterday, too. I was awakened by the Wall Man. He did his Wall Thing, and then I was told that the Floor Men wouldn’t be here until next week. That is fine by me because now I can at least sleep as late as I can. I was really getting overtired. Then I had to run around to Kinko’s and the CD duplicating place. Then I went to the Fashion Square Mall and bought a new carry-on bag at Bloomingdale’s. I’d been told that there were three specialty luggage shops in the mall, but I couldn’t find them. Later in the day, I began not to like the bag I’d bought, so I went back to the mall and finally found the specialty luggage shops, which were very nondescript and hard to see. Happily, one of these was a Tumi shop, and that’s where I got my new splendidly splendid overnight bag. It’s quite small in size, but has many nice-sized compartments and I think it will serve me well. Perhaps it will even serve me medium, but I hope it doesn’t serve me rare. Is anybody looking at the size of this here paragraph? In any case, it was very pricey but it’s the first piece of luggage I’ve ever bought, so if you amortize it over fifty-seven years, it was a good deal. So, I am now the proud owner of a Tumi bag. Thanks to dear reader Hisaka for mentioning it in the postings. I think we need some more military humor, don’t you? Forward March! That’s a little military humor, since it is March and we are going forward. Backward February! I’m loving our new military humor. Everyone must chime in with their own military humor. Let’s have it all, the whole ball of Wacs. Hey – how about that – more military humor.
Last night, I went to Mr. Grant Geissman’s home environment and heard two tracks. Unlike the last five I heard, these were quite full and sounded absolutely incredible. Since one of them was a song of mine own, I was especially pleased. I think this is going to be quite an interesting album. It does take Grant a while to get into the swing of things, but he’s swingin’ now, baby. I think we’re actually going to be able to start recording the vocals in mid-April. Very exciting?

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because there just might be some more military humor awaiting us.

Isn’t St. Patrick’s Day coming up soon? I can’t remember when it is but I shall have to make sure I’ll be wearin’ of the green. Today I shall wear Navy blue or perhaps Marine pink. Oh, there we go again – more military humor.

I’m supposed to get together with Mr. Donald Feltham tomorrow night to tape a radio show devoted to Writer’s Block. I may have to reschedule until after the York of New trip – it just depends on how tired I am and how together everything is for the trip.

As I’m typing this my iPod is playing the main title music from The Best Years of Our Lives by Mr. Hugo Friedhofer. May I just say that I love Mr. Hugo Friedhofer? He is one of may all-time favorite film composers, and I love The Best Years of Our Lives score almost more than any other ever written. All hail Mr. Hugo Friedhofer.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must go hither and thither and even if I don’t go hither and thither I shall certainly be going yon. I believe I’ll also be lunching with Miss Tammy Minoff. Mostly, I’m going to try to be through with everything by mid-afternoon, so I can relax and smell the roses or the coffee or the turnips or whatever the HELL I’m supposed to be smelling. Speaking of smelling, here’s today’s topic of discussion: If you could be a member of the opposite sex (and who here isn’t), who would you most want to be – either now, or in the past. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we? And don’t forget the military humor. But let’s hope the general doesn’t expose his privates, even though the privates have been behaving badly. Oh, there I go again – more military humor.
