SMELLING THE COOFIE

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, the weekend is almost upon us and what a weekend it’s going to be out in these here parts. As you all know, I shall be at the Ray Court’s Hollywood Collector’s Show bright and early tomorrow morning for two long full days of signing (well, I have no guarantees that anyone will actually want anything signed, but that’s why I’ll be there – that and to have fun). I’m all prepared – everything is boxed and in the car. So, today I can relax and smell the coffee or the roses or whatever the HELL I’m supposed to be smelling. I need some relaxation because yesterday I was on the go all the livelong day and evening. I started the day by waking up late. I then did a bunch of little revisions on my short story. Then I went to Mr. Grant Geissman, who never showed up for our meeting. I then had to pick up my dry cleaning, pick up my photos, and attend to quite a few other little pesky details. I then packed up everything for the show. Then I had to go back to Mr. Grant Geissman’s and finish doing whatever work needed to be done on the Guy Haines tracks. That took five hours, but it’s all finished, save for the few tracks that get horns put on them. I must say, I’m very pleased with the tracks and the song selection, and am really looking forward to the vocal sessions a week from Monday. Both Guy and myself are going to the doctor on Monday, as we’re both suffering from allergies – he will get his throat swabbed and hopefully he’ll be given some pills or a shot that will protect his throat from allergy problems that can cause hoarseness. I will be getting a shot or whatever I need, as well, because I must be in tip-top shape or, at the very least in top-tip shape for our sessions. I didn’t get to eat until nine o’clock. I was quite hungry, let me tell you that. But, I didn’t overeat – I was a good boy. Isn’t that exciting? Isn’t that just too too?

Last night I watched no motion picture on DVD on account of I wasn’t home. The only thing I watched was this week’s episode of Alias, which was ho-hum and also hum-ho.

I think that next week I shall reveal the song selection for Guy Haines’ new album. I shall also reveal the title for those who have yet to hear it.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because I must relax and smell the coofie. Smell the “coofie”? What in tarnation is coofie? In any case, I must relax and smell the coofie and the coffee and the toffee and the roses and the gefilte fish.

I’m smelling the coofie right now and I can tell you it isn’t too pleasant. It has kind of a rank smell, the coofie does. I’d much rather smell the roses, wouldn’t you? Not the toeses, mind you, no, I’d much rather smell the roses.

I seem to have lost all semblance of normal thought. Perhaps I should have done an outline of these here notes. This is what happens when you free-form – you become a blithering idiot who smells the coofie.

I have, once again, pulled a small selection of my original scripts from TV shows I’ve appeared in – these I shall sell to anyone who’s interested and attending the Courts show. They were quite a popular item last time – I sold all but two out of the eight I brought.

Now wait just a darned minute. I think we’d just all better put on our pointy party hats and our colored tights and pantaloons, I think we’d just all better break out the cheese slices and the ham chunks, I think we’d just all better dance the Hora or the Turkey Trot because we’ve got us a birthday to celebrate here at haineshisway.com and that birthday belongs to the Floop Girl herself, dear reader Sandra. So, let’s give a big haineshisway.com birthday cheer to dear reader Sandra. On the count of three: One, two, three – A BIG HAINESHISWAY.COM BIRTHDAY CHEER TO THE FLOOP GIRL HERSELF DEAR READER SANDRA!!!

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must write, I must relax and smell the coofie, I must eat various and sundried foodstuffs, I must drive about in my motor car, and I must attempt to watch a motion picture on DVD. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Friday – what is currently in your CD player, and your DVD/video player. I’ll start – in my CD player, the Guy Haines tracks. In my DVD player, Duck, You Sucker, a film of Sergio Leone. Your turn. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst we all smell the coofie – it’s rank, but it’s cherce.
