FEELING THE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, it is Christmas day. I ask you, where else on all the Internet can you find such information? Nowhere, that’s where. I’m writing these here notes in a hurry so that I can go to sleep and then my close personal friend, Mr. Santa Claus, will be able to slide down my chimney and leave some splendidly splendid gifts. I am feeling the Christmas spirit. Have you ever felt the Christmas spirit? If so, how did the Christmas spirit react when you felt it? Did it smack you upside the head, or did it enjoy being felt? Not only am I feeling the Christmas spirit, but I’m feeling very full from eating so much fershluganah food. I know you’re all waiting to hear about the Christmas Eve Do, so let’s cut to the chase, shall we? Yesterday, I awoke bright and early to begin my preparations of the partay. It’s basically an all-day affair, these preparations. I made the tuna pasta salad, did some errands, bought a few last-minute gifts, and then began creating the spaghetti sauce. Just chopping the ingredients took an hour. I then began cooking all the ingredients, and as they were cooking I cleaned up the home environment. This took quite a while, because over the last couple of months things have been piling up, and I’ve been so busy I haven’t had time to do anything about it. I got everything shiny and clean, all the while whilst the sauce was simmering. I then put out all the napkins and plates and eating implements, along with our Christmas candles.

Before the partay even began, I had a lovely visit from our very own Mr. Kevin Spirtas, who could not attend. Then, at about six-fifteen, the first guests arrived – the lovely Rachel and her mum Panni. Then neighbors Anthony Slide and Bob Gitt arrived. They were followed almost immediately by dear reader PennyO, who showed up with close-cropped short silver hair. They immediately loaded up their plates with spaghetti and tuna pasta salad, and everyone professed the food yummilicious. Tony and Bob weren’t eating, although they couldn’t resist a bit of the tuna pasta salad. Then our very own Vinnie arrived. We had lovely conversation (we all sat in the den, where we had a nice fire going). Then, Marina, my masseuse, arrived, looking quite beautiful. Shortly thereafter, Adryan Russ and her ever-lovin’ Dale (our stage manager for Deceit) arrived. They all got their big helpings of foodstuffs, and several of the guests brought various chocolates and dessert-type things. One thing that people could not stop eating was dear reader Jane’s fudge. It was absolutely addictive. Then Miss Barbara Deutsch arrived, with son Sam and his ever-lovin’ Natalie in tow. They got their food, and then somehow the partay migrated from the den to the living room, something that’s never happened before. That was fun, because the living room is a very warm and inviting place. We all gabbed, and then we laughed and laughed and just when we thought we could laugh no more, we laughed again. The partay broke up about nine-forty-five, but I had one late visitor show up after that – our very own booklet designer, Doug Haverty. Everyone got presents, and it was a lovelier than lovely time. During the partay, I’d only had one small helping of each dish. After everyone left, I then proceeded to stuff myself silly, and now I feel very full and like I’m going to explode. Isn’t that exciting? Isn’t that just too too?

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below whilst I continue to feel the Christmas spirit. I’m so enjoying feeling the Christmas spirit, that perhaps I’ll tell the tale of The Randy Vicar and The Walnut.

I think I hear our very own Mr. Santa Claus making his way through the City of Studio. I must shortly be on my way to the bedroom environment so that he can slide down Ye Olde Chimney.

My darling daughter is supposed to come visit me today, but I haven’t heard what time that will be happening, although it’s supposed to be in the morning hours. After that, I’ll be driving to the Monica of Santa, where I shall sup with our very own Mr. Nick Redman and family.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, open presents, I must visit with the darling daughter, I must relax, and I must continue to feel the Christmas spirit. Today’s topic of discussion: An easy one – what did you get for Christmas? We want full details about everything. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, as we all continue to feel the Christmas spirit and whilst we spread good cheer and happiness wherever we go today.
