I FEEL TWITCHY AND BITCHY AND MANIC

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I’m feeling twitchy and bitchy and manic. Yes, you heard it here, dear readers, I’m feeling twitchy and bitchy and manic and sassy and perky and done with any left-over negative stuff from last week’s onslaught of slaughter. I just let it all go – I do what I always do in such cases, and it’s something I recommend wholeheartedly to all you dear readers – when I feel negativity coming at me and drenching me, I simply take a long and very hot shower and I wash it off and watch it go down the drain. It really works, but you have to believe. So, that’s what I did, and I felt ever so much better for it. In fact, I immediately began to feel twitchy and bitchy and manic, like a gazelle eating Frosted Mini Wheats. Speaking of Frosted Mini Wheats, I had quite a lovely Saturday, doing not much of anything at all. Oh, I did some errands and such, but mostly I just hung around the home environment relaxing. Then I toddled over to the theater, ran a few things, and just hung out until the audience arrived. And quite a nice audience it was – just about a sold-out house, and the audience had quite a good energy to it. They really seemed to enjoy the show thoroughly, and unlike the LA critics, they were surprised by every single twist in the show. The actors had some weird moments, but I’m probably the only one who noticed them. Some nice big laughs, and a couple of gasps, too. We had one of the LACC teachers in our audience, and as it turns out, Greg Albanese went to LACC – I had no idea. My pals the Geissmans were there, too, and Tammy had a lot of her friends there, including Ryan Raftery, who was in What If. All in all, it was very pleasing. I’m hoping we have a decent crowd for the matinee – I know I have five people coming, so that’s something anyway. After the show, the Geissmans and I went to the Eclectic CafĂ©, where we had a lovely repast – I had a warm steak salad that was one of the best salads I’ve ever had. In attendance at the table next to us was Mr. Kiefer Sutherland, star of 24.

Yesterday, I managed to watch a motion picture on DVD entitled The Ipcress File. This is a new region 2 special edition, and it’s quite a nice DVD. The film is very strange, but I rather like it a lot, especially Mr. Michael Caine’s turn as Harry Palmer. It’s directed by Mr. Sidney Furie, and it’s quite a striking little film, with lots of strange angles in the photography, plus it has a great score by Mr. John Barry. This new transfer is a lot better than the very pricey out of print Anchor Bay DVD. It’s still not perfect, color-wise, but it’s at least in the ballpark.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because I must be up at a very early hour to have a very early breakfast with my friend, Mr. David Wechter.

My goodness, I’m feeling twitchy and bitchy and manic and all the other twitchy and bitchy and manic people better watch out! As Mammy Yokum would say, “I’se the twitchiest, and bitchiest, and manicest.”

Today, of course, I’ll be seeing the matinee (not sure if I’ll stay or not, but I’ll be there for at least the first act), and then I’ll be relaxing upon my return. Since the videotapes that were supposed to arrive from The Disney Channel didn’t arrive, I shall be viewing most of Monday and Tuesday – they’re giving me a little more time to turn in the first draft script for the promo spots because of the little screwup.

This upcoming week shall be quite a busy one, what with the Disney gig and planning the musical theater workshop class, and then continuing work on Miss Linda Purl’s show upon her return and figuring out our plan of attack for our new Deceit campaign. In fact, it will be non-stop going and doing each and every day.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be twitchy and bitchy and manic, I must breakfast, I must see a matinee, I must watch a DVD or three, and I must prepare for my busy week. Today’s topic of discussion: In school, what were your all-time favorite elective classes – you know, the ones not in the standard curriculum – things like music and drama and whatever else your school had. Let’s have loads of lovely posts, shall we, and do make them all twitchy and bitchy and manic.
