BEWITCHED, BOTHERED, AND BEWILDERED BK

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, it’s already Friday and the beginning of another weekend and April is almost half over and I’m becoming bewitched, bothered, and bewildered how the time can fly by so fast and I’ll be consarned if this hasn’t turned into one of those annoying run-on sentences you know the kind it just keeps going on and on with not a punctuation mark in sight just words tumbling over words and sentences tumbling over sentences in one big mish-mash and also mash-mish jumble on incoherent ramblings and someone please throw me a period or a comma or an exclamation point or something and please do it quickly before we. Thank goodness, I thought that run-on sentence would never end, didn’t you? Speaking of bewitched, bothered, and bewildered, yesterday was a mighty strange day, and yet a day I enjoyed. I had a nice night’s sleep, was awakened by a nice telephonic call, and then sat down and began writing. I did a couple of pages, and then went off to do errands and whatnot. Our very own Mr. Nick Redman came by in the afternoon, and we exchanged some CDs, he picked up a DVD I’d purchased on his behalf, and he also took home with him a big, bound manuscript of short stories. Then Miss Jessica Rush and I went off for a late lunch meeting at Casa Vega. We had a lot to discuss and I was regaled with many interesting stories about many interesting things. I then came home, wrote another two pages, and then went off to meet up with dear reader Hisaka at her hotel. She has a very nice room there, and from her window you can see the apartment building of one of our favorite pianist, Mr. John Boswell. We chatted for a while, and then she unveiled something she’d brought me – an original (and I do mean original – from the first release of the film – VERY RARE) poster from one of my top-ten films – High and Low. Pretty cooliscious, if you ask me. I then took her for some food (I didn’t eat, as I was still full from my late lunch). I then took her back up to her hotel room, and then headed home. And that was my day and evening.

I am really falling behind on my DVD watching, and I have stacks of things I must watch and watch soon. I’m watching something called Land Raiders, a perfectly dreadful American imitation spaghetti western with Telly Savalas. The only reason I’m watching it is because of actress Janet Landgard, who I adore from The Swimmer. She only did the two films and then she completely disappeared (can any hainsies/kimlets find out what happened to her). Happily, it’s a short film, and I’ll be through with it in about forty minutes.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because time is flying by and it’s already time to post these here notes and frankly I’m bewitched, bothered, and bewildered about it, and a bewitched, bothered, and bewildered BK is a frightening thing.

Today I have quite a few things to get done. I must, of course, write three or four pages (at the end of the day, I’ll probably be a third of the way through the play), I must ship a few packages, and pick up a couple, should they arrive. I must also go to the editing room and edit the end of act one, and then take home a tape of what we’ve done so far. I’m hoping we can start up on act two on Saturday, and maybe even finish it. After I’m finished in the editing room, I shall then pick up dear reader Hisaka and we shall drive over to Musso and Frank, where we will meet Miss Julieanne Pogue. I’m very anxious to see Julieanne and I know it will be a splendidly splendid evening. I’ll probably jog, too, at some point during the day, as I did yesterday. I think I will have achieved my ten-pound weight loss within the next five or six days, and then it will be on to the next ten.

There is an interesting thing happening on Saturday, which I’ll tell you about, and which I know you’ll all find very amusing – I’m just not certain which way the wind will ultimately blow, but when I know, then I shall tell you the story.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, do all of the above and then some, I must drive about in my motor car (and put some oil in the motor car, too, something I meant to do many days ago), and I must try to stay focused and clear on the play and where it’s going. I must say, I do get some of my best ideas whilst jogging. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Friday – what is currently in your CD player and your DVD/video player? I’ll start – CD, just finished the three CD set of Goodbye, Mr. Chips, which I enjoyed but did not love, and the wonderfully wonderful soundtrack to The Swimmer. Next up, the gigantic six disc newly remastered set of That’s Entertainment, which has a whole CD of never-before-released tracks. DVD, next up Sweet Bird Of Youth and Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, followed by a rare John Boorman film I’ve never seen – Leo the Last. Your turn. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, otherwise I shall have to be a bewitched, bothered, and bewildered BK.
