TODAY IS THE DAY

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, today is the day. Yes, you heard it here, dear readers, today is the day. Yesterday was also the day but today is more the day than yesterday because today is the day we do the first performance of The Last Starfighter reading. We had a pleasant last rehearsal, ran quite a few things, and I only sung out a few times. I went right home after rehearsal, had my hot tea, changed rooms (much happier now), but still am having hoarseness, which I’m hoping will be gone by morning. I’m getting up quite early so I can warm up, shave, shower, and maybe even get in a little walk. I forgot my belt, so I’m going to try and find a Gap before we actually do the performance at two. We have a run-through at ten. I spent a restful day yesterday, not doing much of anything. I did end up having a sandwich with Miss Juliana A. Hansen and it was very nice to see her again. But, most of the day was spent sitting on my chair like so much fish. I was very happy to get the change of room – it’s not a whole lot bigger, but it’s definitely not claustrophobic at all, and everything about it is much nicer. So, if I ever stay here again, I know exactly what sort of room to ask for.

Tomorrow, of course, will also be the day, the day in which we do two more performances. After that, I don’t give a flying Wallenda if I’m hoarse or not. I’m very much looking forward to our hainsies/kimlets gathering on Saturday night and will, of course, have a full report.

I also have to book my transportation back to the Newark airport on Sunday morning (very early). Oh, I had some pizza last night – I stopped at a place that looked like it had excellent pizza, but unfortunately it was very disappointing.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because today, after all, is the day and I need to get my beauty sleep.

Have I mentioned that today is the day? In case anyone hasn’t noticed, these are what we call perfunctory notes or, to put it another way, notes that are perfunctory. That is because I cannot stay up to the wee small hours of the morning as I have been all week (and sleeping late, too). No, I must abed soon and wake up soon, so I shall be alert and ready and also ready and alert for our performance.

After the performance, FJL and Skip are hosting a little dinner partay at some restaurant or other, and after that I shall be on my way to the theater to see A Chorus Line, which I’m very much looking forward to.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, rehearse and then do a performance, attend a dinner and attend a Broadway musical. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Friday – what is currently in your CD player and your DVD/video player. I’ll start – I’m in New York, New York, so the answer is nothing. Your turn. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, for today is the day and let’s not forget it.
