WE WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, the Do is Done and now I must hurry and write these here notes, for it is after midnight and Mr. Santa Claus will soon be here and I must be abed so he can come down the chimney and do his thing. Since it is after midnight, might I just say we wish you a Merry Christmas? I might and I do and I have – a wonderful, warm, safe, cozy, and splendidly Merry Christmas to one and all and also all and one. I have not felt very Christmasy for the last few years but for whatever reasons I do feel Christmasy this year. My bells were jingling and everything. Speaking of jingling bells, yesterday was a fantabulous day filled with doing nothing but cooking, cleaning, preparing, and having a Christmas Eve Do. I got up late, jogged, bought a couple of last-minute items at the supermarket, and then settled down to making Ye Olde Spaghetti Sauce. I also prepared the serving table, cleaned the home environment up nice and sparkly, and in between all of that, I watched a few minutes of a motion picture on DVD, I listened to several festively festive CDs and got ready for the arrival of those who would soon be arriving. The arrivals arrived beginning right at six. First up was Hisaka, followed by Adriana and her mother Simone. Others in the first wave were former dear reader Maria and her beautifully beautiful daughter Rachel, publicist Steve Moyer, friend Don Scribner and his friend Catherine, followed by my friend Lee and her two young daughters, who were incredibly cute and very bright and very well behaved. The spaghetti and attendant sauce was pronounced excellent, as was the Tuna Pasta Salad. Much food was consumed by all, including yours truly. Hisaka made her crab moose, the Pattis brought a fruit cheesecake thing, and there was a lovely Pecan Pie. The conversation was fun (I gather everyone in one room rather than have a spread out party – I like it better that way), and we continued eating and eating like there was no tomorrow. A few people left around nine, when the second wave arrived – Barbara Deutsch, her son Sam Lembeck, and his wonderful girlfriend Natalie, my pal Walter Willison, The Brain musical director Richard Berent, and Doug Haverty, his lovely wife, and his lovely daughter Hartley. Normally, I kick people out by ten-thirty, but it was just too too much fun and everyone finally toddled off around eleven-thirty, at which time I cleaned up everything. I hope I didn’t leave anybody out. Several people who were meant to come were no shows, but it was one of the best Do’s we’ve had, and I only wish that dear reader Pogue and the lovely Julieanne were there.

I must say, I made four pounds of pasta and it was almost all gone by the end of the evening. And normally I have tons of sauce left, but there was not very much left at all – just a bowlful. Most of the tuna pasta salad was consumed, and all the chocolate donuts bit the dust (they were really popular with the populace), along with an entire box of See’s Candy. Half the Pecan Pie went, as did half the fruity cheesecake thing. I’m glad the donuts went because I’d be eating all of them right about now had they not.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because it is Christmas, and I think I hear Mr. Santa Claus at my chimney.

Today, I’m hoping my daughter will be paying a visit (if not, it will be tomorrow), and then I shall relax, open presents, and be warm and toasty whilst watching a DVD or three. This evening I’m attending a Christmas party at Cissy Wechter’s home environment. I shall try not to eat like a pig, but I know that once today is over, it’s back to my rigidly rigid diet and jogging regime.

It is my fervent wish that all you wonderful hainsies/kimlets have the best and most merry love-filled Christmas Day ever. When I came onto the site after the Do it was just so warm and lovely to read all the postings, and I will say again that this here site is totally unique on all the Internet. There’s just nothing like it, and it’s all due to our eclectic and amazing merry troupe.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, sleep late, open presents, jog, see the darling daughter, attend a Christmas Day Do, and watch DVDs. Today’s topic of discussion: Easy – what presents did you get? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, and we wish you a merry Christmas the likes of which you’ve never had before.
