WITH FURTHER ADO

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I must write these notes with speed and haste and alacrity, for she of the Evil Eye will be here bright and early and also early and bright. So, without further ado, the notes. Oh, I don’t know, I think we should have some further ado, don’t you? What are the notes without some further ado? I don’t know about you, dear readers, but I feel some further ado is in order. So, with further ado, the notes. I no longer have a clew as to what the HELL I’m talking about. Speaking of what I’m talking about, yesterday is worth talking about. For example, I got up – that was worth talking about, considering the alternative. I cannot remember a thing I did this morning, other than I did a lot of stuff. I know I did quite a few errands and whatnot, and I know I jogged and whatnot, and I know I sent an e-blast and I know I had many telephonic conversations and I know I went grocery shopping for the first time in months. I know I supped and had quite an ordinary meal at Du-Par’s – it’s really one of the few times the pancakes were really mediocre. And I know I sat on my couch like so much fish. I also know that our two new Kritzerland releases, the cast album for The Brain From Planet X and the Joan Ryan album, are up for preorder at www.kritzerland.com. Of course, preordered copies will ship well in advance of the February 27th street date and copies preordered obviously help support Kritzerland. If anyone would like a signed copy (by me and anyone else from the cast I can rustle up), just drop me an e-mail as soon as possible and I’ll earmark those copies. And the first fifty people who order the Joan Ryan CDs will receive signed copies. So, don’t tarry and/or dally – get your order in now. The sound clips for both albums will be up on Monday evening, and the lyrics for The Brain are downloadable right now.

Last night, I watched a motion picture on DVD entitled Defending Your Life, starring Mr. Albert Brooks and written and directed by him, as well. The film also stars Miss Meryl Streep, Mr. Rip Torn, and Miss Lee Grant. I find Mr. Brooks’ films a mixed bag and have never really loved any of them – except this one, which I feel works splendidly all the way through. It’s charming, funny, surprisingly romantic, with splendidly splendid performances from everyone. The transfer is okay – nothing to shout about, but serviceable. Also, I must make mention of the really excellent Michael Gore score – it’s surprising he didn’t go on to become a top film composer.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below without further ado? Oh, let’s click on it WITH some further ado – damn them, damn them all to hell.

Today, I shall be arising early and beating a hasty retreat so that she of the Evil Eye can do her thing. I’ll be joining Mr. Grant Geissman for a little jaunt to the Monica of Santa to visit a book dealer we know, so that Mr. Geissman can pick up some books he’s ordered. I’m hoping we can then lunch somewhere fun and interesting. After that, I shall come home, jog, and then watch motion pictures all the livelong day and night.

Tomorrow, I have almost no plans (I think someone is stopping by for some reason or another but I can’t remember who or what it’s about). Then, Monday, we seriously begin work on Miss Joan Ryan’s new show.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, write, jog, lunch, and have some further ado. Today’s topic of discussion: Certain lyrics have a way of working themselves into the consciousness – they become part of the language we all know. What are your favorite quotable lyrics? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, and let’s have them with and without further ado.
