THREE LITTLE WORDS

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I really want to shake these here notes up by starting with something other than “Well, dear readers.” Perhaps I’ll start them with something completely daring like, “Dear readers, well” or “Dear well readers” or “Readers well, dear.” It’s always the same damnable “Well, dear readers.” Well, dear readers, I have gone to the “Well, dear readers” well once too often. But I cannot stop now. I cannot suddenly change the opening three words of these here notes. Oh, I know they’re just three little words, but they’re mine own. Has anyone begun to realize that I have no clew as to what the HELL I’m going on about, but then again, these three little words have kick-started the notes, so some good has come of this completely useless paragaph. What the HELL is a paragaph? Didn’t I mean to type “paragraph?” Oh, well, this is what happens when you’ve been out and about all the livelong day and night.

Speaking of a completely useless paragaph, yesterday was a day that began early and ended late. These are metaphysical things I speak of. For example, I got up early, and toddled off to ship packages. I then had to go to a work session with Miss Merissa Haddad, and we played through a lot of music and finalized eight songs out of the fourteen or fifteen we’ll need. I even did an arrangement of one of them whilst at the session. After the two-hour rehearsal, then I had to meet Mr. Kevin Spirtas for a lunch meeting. He needed some help with revamping some dialogue from his one-person show, so I aided and abetted him. After lunch, I came home for but a moment, answered e-mails, and then had to hie myself to Mr. David Wechter’s home environment for a work session on a new project we have, plus dinner. We did some good work (this project, a movie script, could end up being really fun), and then had some excellent food – veal marsala and veal piccata as prepared by the lovelier than lovely Miss Barbara Wechter. While there, I took time out to return the phone call of my muse Margaret, who’d read the new forty-five pages I’d given her. I could not have been more pleased with her reaction – she loved the new pages, and was quite specific about her favorite things and what appealed to her about them. It’s so gratifying to hear that stuff, because one does write in a void, basically. It’s all working for her – she loves the characters, loves the humor, and feels that on top of that there are some emotional moments, too. She caught a couple of typos, and felt I should change one word, which I did. Needless to say, I was very, very happy after our conversation.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because we might be in danger of repeating the three little words.

Today I shall move on to the next chapter – I think I know how I want it to begin, so that always makes things easier. I will hopefully write between three and five pages, and then the only other thing I have on the calendar for tomorrow is a dinner to attend.

Yesterday, I saw the complete packaging for The Creature Wasn’t Nice CD, and I must say it’s quite excellent. The track listing was completely wrong, but I sent the designer the corrected version, so that’s an easy fix. I caught a couple of typos and things, and I’ll proof it one more time before signing off on it, but I was very pleased. I hadn’t read what I wrote since I wrote it, and it read very well, and was very informative.

Uh oh, I feel three little words coming on.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, jog, write, write, write, and then sup. Today’s topic of discussion: What is your proudest accomplishment in your life thus far – the one thing that has brought you more satisfaction and pride than any other? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, and yes, tomorrow’s notes will once again begin with three little words.
