ITSY BITSY TEENY-WEENY YELLOW POLKA DOT BIKINI – IN G

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, this year truly has flown by, like a gazelle in an itsy bitsy teeny-weeny yellow polka dot bikini. Ah, they don’t write ’em like THAT anymore, do they? Can you imagine that song coming out now? And being a hit? How about The Purple People Eater? THAT was a song, baby. I think that somehow the fun has gone out of the songwriting business. Oh, am I waxing nostalgic again? I hate when that happens. Instead of waxing nostalgic I should be waxing the floor or something. How did I get on this tangent? Oh, yes, the fershluganah gazelle. Yes, the year is winding down and at this time next week it will be a brand spanking New Year, namely 2009. We’ll have more about that as the week goes by – namely our look back at 2008 and our high hopes for 2009. Speaking of 2009, yesterday was still 2008. I got a good night’s sleep and got up at nine-thirty. It was very cold in the home environment so I immediately turned on the heat, which is about the only thing I’m turning on these days if you get my drift and I know you do. I was going to do the long jog but is was so chilly and windy out, I decided I deserved a break and thus did not do the long jog. I really think I shall only do five days a week from now on, since I’ve achieved my optimal weight. I don’t think I gained anything the last couple days, or, if I did, it’s only a pound or two, so I’m doing just fine. In fact, I went to the Gap to look at pants and I tried on a pair of size 32 pants – and they weren’t the loose fit, in fact they were quite snug but loose in the waist and cut low – too low for my taste, but I was amazed to be in them at all and having them fit so comfortably. In any case, I did some stuff on the computer, listened to CDs, then my Kritzerland helper came over and helped put postage on all the packages, so they are all ready to go as soon as the CDs arrive. After that, I made some pasta and used some of my leftover sauce – it was really quite tasty. I had two platefuls, maybe eight ounces of pasta all told. And then I had a little kugel, too, and yes, I had one chocolate donut, which had 280 calories, so wasn’t that harmful, and that was my food intake for the day. I’m still full from the spaghetti. I did do a couple of errands and whatnot, too. I then sat on my couch like so much fish.

Yesterday, I watched a potpourri of things. I began with an episode of Mannix – quite good, and featuring both Cloris Leachman and Marie Windsor. I then decided to watch the delightfully delightful French motion picture from France entitled Bienvenue Chez Les Ch’tis, which I’d just seen last week. It was just as charming and funny as it was the first time. After that, I watched two more episodes of Mannix and that was that. It was, on the whole or, at the very least, on the half a very nice day.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below whilst we all sing Itsy Bitsy Teeny-Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini in G.

All right, who’s singing in Ab? We are clashing, people. Everyone must sing in the key of G. Today, I don’t really have much planned. I shall definitely do the long jog, no matter what, and then I shall really eat lightly today, perhaps a Subway turkey sandwich or something like it – eggs would be good, too. We shall see. This evening I’m going to my friend’s screening room to see whatever the new Dustin Hoffman movie is. I think he’s also showing something else but I can’t remember what.

Tomorrow, I shall have a very brief visit with former dear reader Hisaka – she occasionally comes over and borrows some DVDs, which is what she’ll be doing tomorrow. Other than that, I shall simply watch DVDs and listen to CDs, and again eat reasonably.

Monday, I’m thinking about seeing two early matinees of new films – maybe Benjamin Button and Doubt. We shall see. Later in the week, I’ll be starting to edit the Kevin and Sean concert footage. Basically, I’ll be discussing stuff with the editor and then I’ll leave him on his own to do a first assembly, after which I’ll come in, look at it, and give him notes. I’m looking forward to doing that.

I’ve also made a big decision about my next novel, which I’ll talk a bit more about as we get closer to the New Year.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, definitely do the long jog, I must do a few errands, and then I must go to a screening. Today’s topic of discussion: Our top-ten lists
continue – what were your top-ten television viewing experiences of 2008? Your favorite specials, series, and reality shows, and your single favorite episode of the year? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst wherever we go today we sing Itsy Bitsy Teeny-Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini – in G, and I don’t want to hear ANY other keys.
