MY HEAD IS DOING A LINDA BLAIR

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, this week is flying by, like a gazelle doing a wheelie. There is so much going on right now from so many directions that my head is doing a Linda Blair, if you get my meaning. Has your head ever done a Linda Blair? Has Linda Blair ever done… never mind. I sometimes don’t know if I’m coming or going and, conversely, I sometimes don’t know if I’m going or coming. I have so many little notes written on so many little papers as well as in my iCalendar and it’s really hard to keep it all straight, but somehow I suppose I’ve been managing. Yesterday, which was supposed to be a light day turned out to be not so light. I slept until nine and had completely weird dreams. I got up, had no time to do a jog as I had to deal with some e-mails and whatnot and then go to a meeting. The meeting was very interesting and we’ll see if it leads anywhere. After that, I picked up four hundred shipping boxes and almost gave myself a hernia. I then had to address a surprising number of packages of orders that have come in since yesterday, along with a couple of bigger orders. That took longer than I thought it would, and then I sat down and began entering Nudie Musical changes and that took a really long time and I only got to page forty or so. In moving some scenes around I had to create new segues and solve some problems, one of which, and a pretty major one, I have not solved. By that time it was already after six and then I had to go deliver a big box o’ CDs to a local dealer, after which I went and had a quick bite to eat – well, not so quick as I didn’t get home until ten. I then started watching a motion picture on Blu-Ray but realized I wasn’t going to be able to finish it, so I shut it off and prepared our eBlast for tomorrow night’s announcement of the new Kritzerland CD. Well, it was short in the telling but long in the doing, if you get my drift and I know you do so don’t pretend you don’t or I will bitch-slap you from here to eternity and hell and back. The funny thing is I know I did several other things but I cannot remember what they were. One thing was that Brent Barrett had called and told me that he’d changed some lyrics on the song he wrote for the Christmas album and asked if he could go into a studio in New York and record it again. We sent him the track, the information about the mic we used and I asked him to please try and match his performance from LA. I also asked that he not present me with multiple takes, but to fix the lines he wasn’t happy with and to have one full take I could use and/or insert lines from our other takes. And I also asked that he call me and play me the vocal over the phone, which he did. It sounded fine and he’s happier with his new occasional lyrics, so all is well.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because frankly I have nothing else to talk about in this section and I also need to get my beauty sleep.

Today, I have to have a work session via telephone since they lyricist of the long musical has come down with something. Since I’d thought we’d be shipping today but in fact won’t be until tomorrow, today should be a light day, but I’ve said that before, haven’t I? I will try to slog through the rest of the Nudie fixes, as I have to get the script off to someone. I’m also trying to arrange a time for Niki Scalera, who played Rosie, to come in and put her vocals on the demo, as I’m not at all pleased with the ones we have. I’m sure I’ll eat something amusing, and I will try to jog, and then we’ll be doing our official Kritzerland announcement at midnight.

Tomorrow, of course, I will be shipping and boy is there a lot to ship. Cason Murphy will be coming over in the afternoon to help, but I’ll have gotten some of it done before then. I know there’s some other stuff I have to do, but I’m sure it’s written here on a tiny piece of paper or on a large piece of paper amidst a plethora of tiny little notes written everywhere. It is to wonder.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, do a jog, have a telephonic work session, eat something, enter Nudie fixes, and announce a new release. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Ask BK Day, the day in which you dear readers get to ask me or any dear reader any old question you like and we get to give any old answer we like. So, let’s have loads of lovely questions and loads of lovely answers and loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I try to stop my head from doing a Linda Blair.
