MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, the Do is Done and I’m quite exhausted, so I’ll keep the notes short and sweet and also sweet and short. The day began at nine. I printed out some orders, and finished some work on the computer, and then I finished cleaning and putting stuff away (of course, I have to now put a bunch of stuff back – mostly the Kritzerland shipping stuff). Then I began chopping and slicing and dicing and mincing whilst catching up on my CD listening. Once I finished all that, I jogged up to the mail place (a little over a mile), picked up a few packages, and then jogged home (a little over a mile). I then began to sauté – garlic, onions, and mushrooms, in lots of butter. Then I finished making the sauce and then put the heat on simmer. I then got all the plates and silverware and candles and such, and set those out. Then I shaved and showered, watched a little of the Blu and Ray of The Elephant Man (an import from England), all the while stirring the sauce and getting everything else ready.

Our first guests arrived around six-fifteen, and then more and more people arrived – in fact, just the right number that I like, around fifteen all told (but not all at the same time). Lots of food was eaten, everyone seemed to like the spaghetti and attendant sauce, the tuna pasta salad was a hit, plus one guest brought some wonderful barbecue chicken wings, while several others brought desserts. The lady I license from at MGM brought a home made cream cheese pound cake that was out of this or any other world. PennyO brought some homemade cookies that were amazingly amazing. Another guest brought coffee brownies. In fact, we had much more food than usual. I’d made a huge amount of sauce and was concerned because we had quite a few no-shows – I thought I’d have way too much left, but that proved not to be the case. I was pretty good – I had one helping of spaghetti, two helpings of tuna pasta salad, two cookies, a small slice of the pound cake and one dinner role. Of course, as soon as I finish these here notes, I’m having more spaghetti and tuna pasta salad – that’s just what I do after the Do. About nine several people left (including the always delightful Karen Morrow) and a whole new batch o’ folks arrived. The conversation was sparkling, the laughs were many, and it was just a very nice, warm Do – just the way we like. We broke the party up around ten-thirty.

I then cleaned up, put stuff away, and that was that. It was actually a wonderful, relaxing day and I felt very festively festive. We had no mistletoe so there was no kissing going on here in the home environment.

Of course, very soon it will be midnight and not a creature will be stirring, not even a mouse. I will be on my couch like so much fish, eating spaghetti and tuna pasta salad.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button whilst we say a hearty MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Today, of course, is Christmas Day, the day in which it is Christmas, hence the moniker, Christmas Day. I’m wishing everyone a beautiful, sweet day, filled with beautiful sweet things and love and laughter and merriment and mirth and legs. Everyone should eat heartily, drink good grog, and give someone a kiss on the cheek who you think needs a kiss on the cheek.

I will be spending the day at home, opening presents, doing dishes, watching motion pictures, and then I’ll toddle off to Cissy Wechter’s Christmas Day Do, which is always a stellar event filled with incredible food and very nice people.

And then it’s back to Kritzerland business, with the signing of the booklets on Saturday, and the addressing of the packages on Sunday. Next week should be reasonably light save for the one shipping day – not sure which day that will be, but should be either Tuesday or Wednesday.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, do the long jog, I must clean up, I must wash dishes, and I must attend a partay. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Friday – what is currently in your CD player, and your DVD/video player? I’ll start – Blu-Ray, The Elephant Man. CD, a whole slew of soundtrack recordings. Your turn. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst we wish you the merriest of MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
