THE BERMUDA TRIANGLE

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, are we really nearing the end of January? This month has flown by, like a gazelle in the Bermuda Triangle eating a Bermuda onion wearing Bermuda shorts. I’m just looking at “Bermuda” and thinking what the HELL is that name? Just look at it, sitting there like so much fish. It’s actually much better backwards – adumreb, which is, of course, what one side called the other in the Civil War. But do you know what was funny about the Civil War? No one was Civil. I’ll bet that hadn’t occurred to you before. In any case, I find the name Bermuda extremely silly, and that’s all there is to it. Oh, my. I’m quite tired, as if THAT hasn’t become apparent by now. Actually, THAT has become a parent by now – THAT is the proud father of a baby THIS. What the HELL am I talking about? Don’t I have notes to write? I do, and I shall, not necessarily in that order. Yesterday was quite a nice little day. I got up early, fixed a few things I’d written towards the end of the day yesterday, reprinted those pages, and then took them to Staples for Xeroxing. I then delivered them to muse Margaret – over 100 pages. I then stopped and got a sandwich and fries, after which I came home and began writing new pages. I wrote for a few hours, doing about eleven or twelve pages. Then I had to take a break, so I sat on my couch like so much fish.

Yesterday, I finished watching a motion picture on Blu and Ray entitled The Faculty. In watching the rest of the film, I realized that there were still remnants of our script ideas in the film, so that was fun to realize. I will say that the pace of the film is excellent and I liked a couple of the cast members. After that, I watched Beneath The Planet Of The Apes. I’d completely forgotten I had the big Blu-Ray set of all the Apes movies. I hadn’t seen the film in quite some time, and I really thought it was not very good. The cast is fine, but it’s just convoluted and odd, and Roddy McDowell is sorely missed (he’s in the first scene, which is actually the last scene of Planet Of The Apes), but then he’s replaced by another actor because he was off directing some movie. Some of the sets are fun, but it just lacks the bite of the first film. I’m in the midst of the third film now, which I’m actually enjoying much more. So far, the transfers are excellent.

After that, I went to Gelson’s for a snack. I got some fruit and some cucumber roll. As it turned out, there was something rotten in the state of Denmark with the cucumber roll. The first piece tasted odd to me, and the second piece tasted even more odd, so I stopped right there. I’ll be taking it back to Gelson’s today. It was like chewing on a fetid turd, that’s what this cucumber roll tasted like. I don’t actually know what could be rotten in a fersluganah cucumber roll – it’s just rice and, you know, cucumber. After that, I had my fruit, and then wrote a few more pages, for a total of seventeen. Then I took a hot shower, and then just played on the computer.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button before this section ends up in The Bermuda Triangle or, at the very least, The Bermuda Square.

Today I think I’ll just be writing. I will write book pages, and I will write liner notes, and I will hopefully proof our new master, and I may deliver a box o’ CDs to the local dealer, although I may do that tomorrow instead. We shall see. But mostly, this will be a writing day.

Tomorrow I have a lunch meeting, and some errands and whatnot, otherwise I’ll be – writing, doing the blurb for our new CD, and prepping our announcement and trying to finish the packaging.

I may try to see my friend David Lee’s production of Camelot later in the week. Also, my new table is supposedly arriving on Wednesday or Thursday, plus Mr. Handy Man has to do some Handy Work.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, write, do liner notes, write, eat, maybe deliver a package, pick up a package or three, and write. Today’s topic of discussion: What are your favorite alien movies? What is the first alien movie you saw? Have you ever known an alien? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, and let’s not visit the Bermuda Triangle after all.
