THE MYSTERY OF THE MISSING CDR

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, did you ever go to find something, you know exactly where it is, and yet it when you go to find it it’s not there and is nowhere to be found? Yes, Virginia, that is what has been happening with me. I went to find a CD, one of my homegrown CDs. They’re all in one place. I’ve seen it there a million times and yet it is not there. I know what it looks like, know what the spine says, and it’s driving me a little nutty. Luckily, I have the 15ips tape from which the CDR was made, so I can get it transferred again, but it just costs more money and the damn thing has to be here somewhere. I’ll keep looking, but I just can’t imagine where else it could be. Well, that was a fine start to the notes, wasn’t it? I must say, I thought yesterday was going to be a nice, relaxing day and I ended up doing stuff until six-thirty, when I finally stopped and just said no. Our new CDs arrived at nine. Since I had to hang around the home environment waiting for the security company to come, I addressed all the packages, and then I put postage on all the US packages and packaged those up, then prepared all the US big orders. This all took a lot of time. The security guy arrived at two and was here about an hour. He basically told me the battery was from the year 2000 and as if that wasn’t enough, nothing was connected and the system needs a new circuit board. I just told him to call the people who set up the appointment and to work it all out with them. I then put all the boxes in the motor car, drove to the post office and dropped off everything and then went to the UPS Store and dropped off the big dealer order. After all that lugging and doing I decided I should have a nice, leisurely lunch so I went to Hugo’s and had a small Caesar salad and some papa’s eggs (no pasta). And as a special treat, I had a nice slice of their pumpkin pie, which they haven’t had in quite some time. After that, I came home and had to answer a plethora of e-mails. Then I finally sat on my couch like so much fish.

Last night, I attempted to slog through Guys and Dolls in high definitions, but no amount of definitions make it a good film and I just gave up. It really is one of my least favorite screen musicals. I then tried to watch Love Come Back in high definitions but I wasn’t really in the mood, although the film definitely has some good chuckles. So, I shut off the TV and instead listened to about eight CDs, so I finally caught up on all these releases that have been stacking up like so much fish. And that was my day and that was my evening.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button whilst I continue to try and solve The Mystery of the Missing CDR by Agatha Christie.

Today, Cason will be here to complete the overseas packages – they’re all done save for the postage and customs slips, so that shouldn’t take too long, then we’ll run that stuff over to the post office, then maybe grab a bite to eat. I also have to pick up the photos I ordered. Then the rest of the day should be mine all mine and then I’ll mosey on over to the Hills of Beverly to see a play by the Kritzerland designer.

Tomorrow, the only real things I have to do are deliver two big boxes o’ CDs to the local dealer and then print up two copies of the new book, one for me, and one for one of my merry proofers. Other than that, I should be able to get some good ME time in.

This week is going to be nutty. Tuesday through Friday is all stuff concerning the long musical. We have three casting sessions, and then we’re doing a private, informal reading just to hear the new draft aloud, to see what needs cutting and/or adjusting before we go into rehearsals in late March for the staged reading.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, ship packages, pick up photos, eat something amusing, and then see a play. Today’s topic of discussion: What is the best meal you’ve had in the last month? Where, what, and why was it so good? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I look for clews in The Mystery Of The Missing CDR.
