SPRUNG

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I’ve sprung forward and lost an hour of sleep I didn’t need to lose and now I am very tired from begin sprung and I really wish the Time People would stop messing with our minds. I did manage to sleep until ten-thirty and I thought that was great until I remembered that although it was ten-thirty it was really only nine-thirty. I reset the two clocks that needed resetting, and reset the clock in the motor car, as well. I went back to looking for bad breaks and em dashes and found yet more – not a lot more, but more nonetheless. I then addressed all the packages for the new Kritzerland release, which should be shipping this week. Then Cason Murphy arrived and he filled out all the customs forms and put postage on all the packages. Then we went to Islands, where we each had burgers and endless fries. I’m afraid we overdid the fries a bit, but they sure were yummilicious and highly addictive, especially when time has sprung forward. I then came home, looked for more em dashes and bad breaks, wrote the liner notes for our next release and sent them to the designer, who sent the booklet for me to proof – I did, found three little fixes and now that is finished and should go off for approval this very morning. We’ll announce it here on Friday at midnight, or maybe even Thursday at midnight. I then gave my notes on the latest draft, which weren’t that many, and then I finally sat on my couch like so much fish. In other words, it was not exactly a day of rest in the City of Studio.

Last night, I watched a motion picture on Blu and Ray entitled Sapphire: based on the novel Precious by Push or whatever the HELL it’s called. I was most surprised to find that I quite liked the film, despite some of the directorial “style” which kept taking me right out of the film. This sort of film is always about the actors and the actors really did deserve all the accolades, nominations, and awards they received. The two leading ladies were superb, but the performance that really took me by surprise was the wonderful turn by Mariah Carey. Where did that come from? She was really good and didn’t look anything like, well, Mariah Carey. For the first ten minutes of the film I almost turned on the subtitle function because I couldn’t understand a word anyone was saying – but I got with it after that and then I was fine for the duration. The transfer is excellent, as is the sound.

After the movie, I checked for more em dashes and bad breaks and then the Kritzerland designer came by and picked up the material for the release that follows the next release, one that will be of particular interest to our genre fans.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because we’ve all sprung and being sprung has caused us to lose one hour and that has certainly discombobulated me or, at the very least, discomgeorgeulated me.

Today, I shall await telephonic calls to see if there’s anything going on, but what I’m really hoping for is a day of rest – the one I didn’t have yesterday. That way I can finish my second checking for em dashes and bad breaks, and I can relax and just enjoy a pretty day.

Tomorrow, I’ll have a lot of errands and whatnot to attend to, and then hopefully we’ll be doing another book design session, so we can get the em dashes and bad breaks fixed and design the sixteen pages of photographs. I’m really looking forward to that, I must say.

Wednesday evening I’ve been invited to the home of Mr. Barry Pearl and his ever lovin’ Cindy for a little St. Patrick’s Day dinner, so that will be fun and oh so Irish. I’ll be wearin’ of the green for sure.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, await telephonic calls, complete the search for em dashes and bad breaks and have a nice, easy day. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s joke day here at haineshisway.com – tell us a really good joke – we can all use the laughs, I’m sure. New, old, tried, true, bad, good – the whole ball of wax. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst this sprung person hits the road to dreamland.
