Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I must write these here notes in a hurry because a) she of the Evil Eye will be here all too soon and also soon too all, b) I must finish writing the questions for tomorrow’s event with our very own Mr. Jason Graae, and c) I must get my beauty sleep so that I can be alive and alert and attentive for said Jason Graae event. So, I shall barrel through these here notes, a) faster than a speeding bullet, b) more powerful than a locomotive, and c) able to leap tall buildings at a single bound. Look, up in the sky – it’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s Notesman. And notes, man, that’s what we intend to give you, man. Yesterday was a day in which various and sundried things occurred. I got up at six a.m. and announced the latest Kritzerland release. Then I went back to bed for three hours, after which I got up. I did some work on the computer, printed out orders, did some errands and whatnot, got the motor car washed, began writing the questions for Jason Graae, began work on our next release, which is actually going to announce a week from Monday rather than two weeks, since we were quite late on this week’s announcement – it’s something that I think will particularly please certain denizens of this here website. Then it was time to go to Genghis Cohen, where I had yet another superlative meal. It was the usual foodstuffs and after I ate I was stuffed with foods. After dinner, I finally came home, at which point I a) printed out more orders, b) had a caramel, and c) sat on my couch like so much fish.

Last night, I watched a motion picture on Blu and Ray entitled The Lovely Bones. I know the book is very well thought of, and I have it here but have never read it. So, I came to the Peter Jackson film version without knowing how good or bad the adaptation was and therefore was only judging the film on its merits alone. I have to say, I think I enjoyed it more than most people because most people seem to have loathed every minute of it. I was never bored by it, and the cast was too terrific to just dismiss the film out of hand. The gal playing the fourteen-year-old was great, Stanley Tucci was really excellent, Mark Wahlberg was Mark Wahlberg (and is a victim of some weak writing), Susan Sarandon is a little over the top, and the rest of the folks all do well. I did not like the score by Brian Eno, which only accentuates the new-age feel of the CGI and narration. But I still found some of it quite moving and, as I said, it held my interest for almost all of its 130 minutes. The transfer is just about flawless, as is the sound.

After the movie, I continued writing Jason questions, printed more orders, ate another caramel just because I wasn’t stuffed enough, and listened to the first half of our new Legend Of The Lost master, which sounds pretty great, especially given our source material. Major kudos to the mastering guy.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because a) I am sleepy, b) I have to write another section, and c) ABC seems to be the theme of these here notes.

Today, I shall be up early, finish the questions, and then be on my way to LACC for our Afternoon With Jason Graae. I do hope I see at least a couple of our West Coast denizens at the event, which promises to be a ton of fun and a fun of ton, not necessarily in that order. After the event, I’ll then toddle over to the Hollywood Show and visit for a while, then I’ll get ready to have supper at the Gardenia and see Miss Andrea Marcovicci.

Tomorrow, I’m doing as little as possible, although I have to deliver CDs to a local dealer, finish approving the new master so it can be overnighted on Monday, and begin writing liner notes for the next release, which I will only say is a BIG release.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, do an event with Mr. Jason Graae, attend the Hollywood Show, and then see Miss Andrea Marcovicci. Today’s topic of discussion: We haven’t done a desert island topic in ages – so, if you could only take the entire run of one television program with you to a desert island, what would it be and why would you choose that particular show? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, a) because we should, b) because it’s not nice unless we have loads of lovely postings, and c) I like good reading matter.
