HERMETICALLY SEALED

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I feel that today’s notes should be hermetically sealed, don’t you? I don’t know why, really, but I like the idea of today’s notes being hermetically sealed. In fact, I may hermetically seal everything today, including a seal. That would be special, wouldn’t it? A hermetically sealed seal? That would get my seal of approval, frankly and even normanly. Yes, I like that – a seal of approval for a hermetically sealed seal. What the HELL am I talking about? Don’t I have hermetically sealed notes to write? I do and I shall, not necessarily in that order. I had another nice day yesterday. I had a decent night’s sleep with yet more weird dreams – not bad dreams, just weird, with weird people doing weird things for weird reasons in weird places. I got up, answered e-mails, had a couple of telephonic calls and then toddled off to my lunch meeting at the West Hollywood Hugo’s. The meeting was fun, dishy, and informative, and we discussed what needed to be discussed. I once again had the Pasta Victor and it really is my new favorite foodstuff. After lunch, I came back to the San Fernando Valley, mailed some paid bills, picked up a little package, did some errands and whatnot, and then finally came home. I re-booked my signing for one week later, May 22, so that’s done. I then had some more telephonic calls, after which I had a visit from our very own Mr. David Wechter. He got his copy of the new book and we had a really nice chat. After that, I drove over to muse Margaret’s and gave her her copy of the new book. I then came home and finally sat on my couch like so much hermetically sealed fish.

Last night, I watched a motion picture on DVD entitled Bert Rigby, You’re A Fool, one of those Warner Archive homegrown things. This was a 1989 film directed by Carl Reiner, and starring Robert Lindsay, who’d done Me and My Girl on Broadway. I must say, Mr. Reiner is not a great director, and this film is pretty terrible. I’d never seen it before because it disappeared so quickly. It’s not funny, it wants to be a sort-of musical but never gets there, and the plot just sort of sits there like so much fish and then it’s over. Of course, I went right to the imdb, where there are only four reviews – all raves, naturally. The real reviews for this film were horrible, and it may well be one of the lowest grossing films in history – the entire gross for this film is $75,000. Worldwide. The transfer is okay – it probably looked this drab in theaters. I then watched a little of Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers on Blu and Ray. As was with the first film, it’s taken me forty minutes to figure out what’s going on, but I think I’m with it now. I’ll finish it up this evening.

After that, I did some work on the computer, had a few more telephonic calls, took a shower, and then decided I should write some notes. Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because I’m feeling a little hermetically sealed right now.

Today, I have a breakfast to go to at nine-thirty, then I have some errands and whatnot to attend to and then I have a three o’clock meeting. I have to have several important telephonic calls, and I have to write the blurb for our new release.

Tomorrow, I think is pretty free, but I really can’t remember anymore. I think I may be doing something tomorrow night – hopefully, I’ll remember. Sunday we address and put postage on CD packages and book packages.

And then Tuesday morning all the books get shipped – I’m so excited to get these on their merry way and so excited for people to read it. This book has been so special to me and it’s like putting one’s baby out into the world.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, have and early breakfast, do errands and whatnot, have a meeting, hopefully pick up a package or three, write a blurb, and then relax. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Friday – what is currently in your CD player, and your DVD/video player? I’ll start – CD, Kritzerland projects. Blu and Ray, The Two Towers. Your turn. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, and make them all hermetically sealed.
