MY I?

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, this year is flying by, like a gazelle doing the Watusi. And to prove it, April is gone and it is now May. Can you believe it? Yes, you heard it here, dear readers, it’s May, it’s May, the lusty month of May. I always enjoy the lusty month of May and I wish each and every one of us a month filled with health, wealth, happiness, creativity, and all things bright and beautiful. May is a month in which I like to say May I and after that I like to say the sequel to May I, May II. In any case, it is May, the fifth month of the year. But before we move on to May, let us close out April. I had a very nice day yesterday. I got up early and went to an early breakfast. The restaurant, called Dish, was jammed for breakfast. I’d eaten dinner there once before and liked it, but the breakfast wasn’t so hot – weird bacon, runny eggs, and cornmeal pancakes that looked good on paper but were a little weird going down the gullet. Anyway, the company was nice and fun, and that’s all that mattered. After breakfast, I headed home, where I answered e-mails, did some work on the computer, and a little organizing. Then I had the motor car washed, I picked up no mail or packages, and then it was time to go to my three o’clock meeting with the lovely Kay Cole. Kay just choreographed the new musical Nightmare Alley at the Geffen, which features our very own Miss Alet Taylor. We discussed a lot of things and we’re going to try and see if there’s anything we can do together. I’ve always liked Kay – she’s a good spirit, so it would be fun to work with her. After the meeting, I came home, did a little more work on the computer, had a couple of telephonic calls, and then finally sat on my couch like so much fish.

Last night, I watched a motion picture on Blu and Ray entitled Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers. As with the first film, Fellowship Of The Ring, it took me about forty minutes to get with it and even then I didn’t know who half the characters were, and I also had difficulty in understanding what certain actors were actually saying. The first movie ran about two hours and forty minutes, which seemed fine. This one ran just under three hours. And I notice Return of the King runs three hours and twenty minutes. So, they got longer and longer. I enjoyed parts of The Two Towers, and parts just went over my head. The film has incredible production values and effects, and the acting, save for the mumbling of certain players, is very good. The Blu and Ray looks terrific, and the sound is robust. I’m looking forward to seeing the wrap up today.

After the movie, I did a little more work on the computer, ate a couple of small biscotti, and played on the Internet. And then it was time to write these here notes, and get ready for the lusty month of May. May I?

Today, I have no real plans and I hope it stays that way. I do have a few errands and whatnot to attend to, and I will eat something fun and I will watch Return of the King for three hours and twenty minutes, but other than that, I’m takin’ it easy.

Tomorrow, of course, will not be a day of rest. We’ll be addressing CD packages and book packages and putting postage on them, and then we’ll be doing a little organizing. And I’m sure I’ll eat something amusing and fun. I also have to get everything ready for Monday morning’s Kritzerland announcement, which will be announced here at the stroke of midnight tonight.

This week is going to be very busy, with shipping CDs and books, several meetings, and then flying to Washington to see The Brain From Planet X, which I’m very much looking forward to.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, do a few errands and whatnot, eat something fun, hopefully pick up some mail and packages, and watch a motion picture or two. Today’s topic of discussion: What is the most exotic foodstuff you ever ate. What was it, when did you have it, where did you have it, and how was it? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, as we welcome the lusty month of May – a month we pray will be filled with health, wealth, happiness, creativity, and all things bright and beautiful. May I?
