BEREFT OF A TITLE

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, we have shipped out 1000 CDs and are here to tell the tale. Yes, you heard it here, dear readers, we shipped out 1000 CDs and are here to tell the tale. The tale began at nine in the morning when both CDs and helper arrived. We then began the arduous task of packaging up eight hundred CDs into their little boxes, along with the 200 CDs going to two dealers. As you might imagine, this took several hours, this packaging up, but we got it all done. Then we lugged box after box of the boxes into the motor car, filling the entire trunk (which is huge) and the entire back seat, after which we drove everything to the postal office and deposited them on the loading dock. To give you an idea just how many boxes it was, we put $2,000 worth of postage on them. Then we took the dealer orders to the UPS Store. We cleaned the dining room so that it once again resembles a dining room, and we did the same for the living room, so that it once again resembles a living room. The helper went on her merry way, and then Mr. Grant Geissman arrived, figured out where the Thurber drawing would show best and he hung it in that very spot. Then we went and had some lunch at the Studio CafĂ© – I must say that the food was not so hot, which was a first. I may have to take a long hiatus from there after that meal. Then I went to the framers to get a couple of things framed, and then I finally came back home. I had to have several conversations regarding the recording session we’re doing this very evening. And then I sat down and wrote the liner notes for the release that follows our next release – I finessed it, did the track listing and credits, and sent it all to the Kritzerland designer. I picked up a couple of packages at the mail place, came back and did a mile and a half jog, and then finally sat on my couch like so much fish. By the time I did so, it was already dark out, that’s how long the day was.

Last night, I began watching a motion picture on Blu and Ray entitled Paranoic, a smelly piece of Hammer cheese starring Oliver Reed. I only got about thirty minutes in, before having to take a long telephonic call, so I’ll finish it up this weekend. In fact, I intend to catch up on quite a bit of viewing this weekend.

After that, I listened to various and sundried tracks to several upcoming Kritzerland releases, and also began planning how we’re going to get the word out about our Kritzerland at the Gardenia series, which we’ll start doing tomorrow. I’m waffling back and forth about what the cover charge should be. I want to make sure we make enough dough to pay the musical director and give the cast a little something for their time and effort. Our first thought is fifteen dollars, but we’re toying with ten – but ten means we really kind of have to fill the room to make enough to take care of everything, whereas fifteen makes that part a little easier. We shall see.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because I really need to get a good night’s sleep so I am alert and awake and on top of things today.

Today, I shall do some errands and whatnot, then I need to hear some tapes to ascertain their quality, then I’m meeting Mr. Brad Oscar for a drink and conversation, after which I shall be doing a recording session for the Ahmanson Theater’s new production of Leap of Faith. We start at seven and it’s probably going to go to at least eleven, although it is my intention to move things along. Hopefully, it will all go smoothly and well.

The weekend is fairly light, although I have to finish my scene I’m working on, and I have to prepare for our new Kritzerland announcement, which will, of course, be announced here first, tomorrow at midnight.

Let’s all put on our pointy party hats and pantaloons, let’s all break out the cheese slices and the ham chunks, let’s all dance the Hora or the cakewalk, because today is the birthday of dear reader td. So, let’s give a big haineshisway.com birthday cheer to dear reader td. On the count of three: One, two, three – A BIG HAINESHISWAY.COM BIRTHDAY CHEER TO DEAR READER TD!!!

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, do a jog of some sort, do errands and whatnot, hopefully pick up a package or three and some good mail, listen to some tapes, meet Brad Oscar, and do a recording session. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Friday – what is currently in your CD player and your DVD/video player? I’ll start – CD, various and sundried Kritzerland CDs, and Alexandre Desplat’s score to The Ghost Writer. Blu and Ray, Paranoic, followed by Pandora and the Flying Dutchman. Your turn. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland. Meanwhile, I have no title for today’s notes – that, of course, is unacceptable. We must have a title for today’s notes. And yet, no title is coming to me. I just need a title is what I need and yet here I am, bereft of a title. Well, perhaps Bereft of a Title is a good title.
