THE BUGGED BK

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, way too many people were BUGGING me yesterday. From the time I got up till the time I began writing these here notes way too many people were BUGGING me. And just now a bug was BUGGING me and that bug is no more. That bug is a thing of the past. That bug has met its maker. That but will be BUGGING no one anymore. Right from the get-go people were BUGGING me. I got an e-mail from a customer which reeked with attitude – I answered nicely but pointed out some facts to the gentleman. Like the fact that it is clearly stated on the Kritzerland site when a particular CD will ship and all one has to do is look. But that we normally always beat the official ship date by three or four weeks. The next thing I know, I get an e-mail from paypal saying this guy has opened a dispute. Yes, that’s right – before waiting for a response to his e-mail (which he got a mere four hours after sending his e-mail at five in the morning) he opened a paypal dispute. This means the remove his money from my account, despite the fact that his CD actually shipped four weeks EARLIER than the clearly stated ship date. I responded rather strongly. I finally heard from him late in the day and he was surprised I’d responded rather strongly. I asked him to read both his e-mail and dispute wording and put himself in the other person’s shoes. And he still went on and on because he thought his CD should have shipped the day he ordered it, even though it is clearly stated that the CD was shipping the first week of September. He was, I suppose, a little slow on the uptake. I told him I would appreciate him canceling the dispute immediately – about two hours later he did, leaving this note: “The seller assures me my CD will be sent.” Not quite correct – the seller assured him that his CD WAS sent last Thursday. As I said, a little slow on the uptake and I can only say he won’t be ordering through our website anymore because one does not need this sort of aggravation. Then I found out that an upcoming release had already been issued on CD even though I’d been assured it hadn’t. But I dealt with it swiftly and decided to still do it, but adding about five never before on CD bonus tracks, plus cleaning up the sound considerably – plus the previous CD came out fifteen years ago and no one really knows it exists as it was on a very small label, said label basically not exactly known for its professionalism. I was also amazed by the number of nutjob drivers on the road today, and I spent an inordinate amount of time honking and yelling at them. And they, of course, look at you as if to say, “What???” These people are so hopeless and should not be allowed behind the wheel of a motor car. One particular nutjob was driving eighty on a residential street near the home environment – of course there were no cops in sight. I did pick up stuff at the framers but only after about three calls in which I kept being told someone would call me back.

On the bright side, I did a nice jog, people have been making very nice comments about the London Promises, Promises CD, I made a nice dinner and ate so much food that I went out and jogged a little bit more, and I sat on my couch like so much fish.

Last night, I watched three more episodes of Dragnet 1968 – these are not nearly as much fun as the Adam 12 episodes. As I mentioned before, Kent McCord makes several appearances in these shows, always with a different name. In one of the episodes I watched last night, he was called Officer Jim Reed, which, of course, is who he would go on to play in Adam 12. They did get a lot of fun character actors, and I am always happy to watch the gorgeous Luana Anders in anything, and we also got G.D. Spradlin and Virginia Gregg and lots of other fun folks, plus recurring performances from Mr. Trailer Voice himself, Art Gilmore.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because I must get my beauty sleep and hopefully by the time I arise no one will be BUGGING me anymore.

Today, I shall try to sleep late, but then I have the day to myself and keep it to myself I shall. And then at five I’ll mosey on over to the Pantages, pick up my ticket, go somewhere and have a bite to eat, and then see the closing performance of Young Frankenstein, after which I’ll go backstage and visit with Brad Oscar.

Tomorrow, the helper will come and we’ve got to sort out some shipping problems, do a little organizing, and then do one important errand. Tuesday I have a meeting with Shelly Markham to get him all the music for our Gardenia show so he can begin to learn it – there are currently sixteen songs, so he’s got his work cut out for him. Wednesday I have a lunch meeting, and I’ll be doing some writing and the prepping the next two announcements, Kritzerland-wise. So, a busy week.

Let’s all put on our pointy party hats and our pantaloons, let’s break out the cheese slices and the ham chunks, let’s dance the Hora or the square dance because today is the birthday of dear reader der Brucer. So, let’s give a big haineshisway.com birthday cheer to der Brucer. On the count of three: One, two, three – A BiG HAINESHISWAY.COM BIRTHDAY CHEER TO DER BRUCER!!!

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, do a jog, relax, eat, and see Young Frankenstein. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s free-for-all day, the day in which you dear readers get to make with the topics and we all get to post about them. So, let’s have loads of lovely topics and loads of lovely postings, shall we, and I hope that no one, and I mean no one will be BUGGING me today.
