THE NEW YORK TRIP

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I must write these here notes in a hurry and scurry to the bedroom environment because I must be up at four-fifteen in the morning to get ready and then be on my way to the airport and then on my way to the city that never sleeps. So, please send your strongest most excellent vibes and xylophones for a safe, secure, and on time flight and a quick ride into town from the airport.

So, yesterday was a day. I got up too early thanks to some noisy trucks. I refused to get out of bed and I guess I fell back asleep at some point. Then I finally arose, did my morning ablutions, as it was almost noon, then went to the Studio CafĂ© to have a salad and a bagel. Both were very good and from there I went to the mail place and picked up one package and not one that should have been here the day before and certainly yesterday – sent priority from less than ten miles away. Go USPS. And you wonder why everyone cannot stand you. Then I did some banking, then came home and packed. The helper came by and got some invoices, and then I had a nice visit with our very own Mr. Nick Redman and his lovelier than lovely daughter, Rebecca. I got a sneak peek at the next two Twilight Time Blu and Rays: Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines, which looks Magnificent – sharp as a tack (transfer is from the 65mm elements) and with great color; and Cover Girl, which looks excellent with VERY saturated old-style color. Then they left and I then sat on my couch like so much fish.

Last night, I watched two more Those Who Kill episodes, both excellent, although the leading lady’s character really behaves stupidly at times, and I hope they fix this problem in upcoming episodes. It will be interesting to see if they really go into her troubled history. In any case, I’m enjoying the show very much. I also took a swim and then did my evening ablutions so that I don’t have to do anything in the morning other than shower.

Well, that was a day encapsulated, wasn’t it? That was just a quick tour of a day, wasn’t it? That was the Evelyn Wood version of a day, wasn’t it? Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because I really must endeavor to get as much beauty sleep as I can before the alarm goes off at four-fifteen in the wee small hours of the morning.

Today, I shall be up at four-fifteen at which time I will shower and get ready. I’ll be picked up at five and whisked to the Bank of Bur airport for my seven o’clock flight. Then I’ll check into my hotel, relax, get online, and then have dinner at Angus. If anyone wants to meet after that at Joe Allen, just let me know – I’ll save room for dessert.

Tomorrow, I’ll relax, choose which selections I’ll be reading from the book, and then I’ll meet Lanny Meyers at the Drama Book Shop a little before the signing to run over a song which my close personal friend, Mr. Guy Haines, may or may not be singing. After the signing, I’m sure a few of us will go hang out at Joe Allen. Saturday is a rehearsal day and then I think I’m going to some show Lanny is playing that night. Sunday is more rehearsal and then Sunday night is show time. Then I shall be on my way back to LA on Monday.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be on my way to the city that never sleeps, check into a hotel, and then dine. Today’s topic of discussion: Who is your all-time favorite movie hero (character) and your all-time favorite movie villain? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, after which I shall be on my way to the city that never sleeps, so please send your strongest most excellent vibes and xylophones for a safe, secure, and on time flight.
