NOTES WITH JUICE

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, do I have to deliver the juice? Yesterday, due to my extreme tiredness, we had notes without juice. And I promised that today we would have notes with juice and yet I’m just as tired today as I was yesterday. However, I shall write these here notes with juice because a promise is a promise and yet I have no idea where this juice is supposed to come from because I am feeling juicless in Studio City and look what’s happened now we’ve got one of those unseemly and ungainly run-on sentences that just go on and on without a period or comma or semi-colon or colon or question mark in sight no just words words words tumbling after each other willy-nilly and nilly-willy one word after another like a toboggan in San Juan oh sorry they don’t have toboggans in San Juan oh sorry they don’t have sleigh rides in San Juan oh a Chorus Line reference and I should have worn green I wore green the last time and won’t someone take pity and throw me a period or something. Whew. I thought that would never end and we’d be here till the cows come home. I don’t know what it is with me being so tired, but I just feel like a zombie and my voice is hoarse because of it and that’s really annoying since there’s no reason for my voice being hoarse. After all, why should being overtired cause one’s voice to be hoarse or even horse? These are the questions that are roaming around the windmills of my mind. Well, my intention is to get these here notes posted early and to try for a good night’s sleep wherein I don’t wake up twelve times during the evening. I just feel if I can get two or three good nights of sleep I’ll feel much better. Well, we’ve had a little juice.

Yesterday, I was just tired all day and all night. I think overall I got nine hours of sleep but it just doesn’t feel like it when you’ve been up twelve times during the night. Also, I had very peculiar dreams – not bad, just peculiar. After I got up, I printed out some orders, answered some e-mails, had some telephonic conversations, did some work on the computer and then moseyed on over to a lunch with friends. We met at some golf club restaurant in Griffith Park. I couldn’t believe there were people actually playing golf in ninety-five degree weather, but there they were. I had a short stack and a breakfast burrito – both were surprisingly good. We were there almost two hours, having good conversation. Then I went and picked up one package, after which I came home.
Then I did a few more things on the computer, including compiling a track list for an upcoming project. We had to make two tiny last-minute changes to some packaging, too. I also received an e-mail that made me happy, so that was nice. After that, I finally sat on my couch like so much fish.

Last night, I watched a motion picture on Blu and Ray entitled Who’s Got the Action? starring Mr. Dean Martin, Miss Lana Turner, Mr. Eddie Albert, Mr. Walter Matthau, and Miss Nita Talbot. It’s a typical early 1960s glossy comedy, the kind I’m just partial to, so I enjoyed it thoroughly. With a cast like that it’s hard to go wrong, and there are several really funny scenes, most of them involving Mr. Matthau, who is hilarious as a bad guy who uses a Univac computer to run his bookie operations. Most of the film is studio bound, but there are some wonderful shots of Wilshire Blvd. at Berendo (near Vermont). The score by George Duning is totally delightful. The transfer isn’t much to write home about but I wrote home anyway, just because home was feeling a little lonesome.

I finished that by eight, but I wasn’t in the mood to watch anything else, so I just played on the computer, listened to music and relaxed. Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because I must get these here notes posted and get to bed for what hopefully will be a really good night’s beauty sleep.

I think these here notes have some juice, don’t you? At least they have more juice than yesterday’s juiceless notes. I feel that juiceless is useless, notes-wise, don’t you? Today, I shall have my ME day. I think someone’s coming by to pick up some CDs, but other than that, I think I’m not going to do anything but maybe write some liner notes, and only if I feel like it. Otherwise, I’ll eat something light but amusing and relax, hopefully I’ll pick up some packages, and that’s about it.

Tomorrow, I think I have a meeting or work session or something in the late afternoon, but that will only take an hour. Friday there’s lots o’ stuff to do, and the weekend the only thing I have planned is attending a film music concert at the Hollywood Bowl. Thankfully, the folks who invited me have box seats, so that will be nice. We’re getting there very early to sup before the concert.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, have a ME day, I must eat, I must write if I feel like it, I must hopefully pick up some packages, and I must relax. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Ask BK Day, the day in which you get to ask me or any dear reader any old question you like and we get to give any old answer we like. So, let’s have loads of lovely questions and loads of lovely answers and loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland where I shall hopefully get a really good night’s beauty sleep. I do hope there was enough juice in these here notes.
