OUTSIDE THE BOX EPISODE FIVE

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I must write these here notes in a hurry for I must be up at six in the morning to announce the new Kritzerland titles. May I first say that the daytime weather the last few days has been lovelier than lovely. Nights are still pretty chilly, but I walked yesterday without benefit or need of a coat for the first time in over a month. What am I, The Weather Channel all of a sudden? I wonder if The Weather Channel, like most of the other cable TV channels will start doing original dramatic programming? I know we’d all be glued to our sets (no mean feat) to watch their first original made for cable film, The Day the Sun Came Out, and its sequel, The Day the Sun Didn’t Come Out. They could do disaster movies like Rain! or The Deadly Snow and its sequel The Deadly Snow II. I think this is a grand idea. I’m sure The Weather Channel people read this here site and I’m sure they’ll be ripping off this brilliant idea very soon. Remember, you read it here first.

Yesterday was a very nice day as nice days go. And as very nice days go so went yesterday which, if you must know, was a very nice day. I got up around nine. That was very nice. Then I answered some e-mails after which I began finessing, futzing and fixing the previous day’s writing. This took some time, as there was much to smooth out, a few additions and deletions, and I had to go back several times to make certain the details were all strong enough, since that particular chapter was leading us into the final three chapters. So, by the time I’d written the first of the new pages (it took me a little while to decide on the way to begin it), it was time to go to my lunch meeting. It was such a nice day, I walked over to the Daily Grill. There I met with the singer and we lunched and I came up with a first pass song order for her show next week. It seemed like it might play just fine, but I won’t know that until I hear it all sung later in the week.

After that, I walked back home and immediately wrote about three or four more pages. I took a slight break to watch the sixth episode of Downton Abbey, which I felt was one of its best – very satisfying. Then I went on a tear and I wrote five more pages. Then I had a text message from the Staitman clan, who were close by, so they stopped in for a thirty-minute visit. That was fun. Then I went back and finished the chapter, which, with all the additions I wrote, came out to about twelve pages. So, I was actually finished quite early, which was lovely. Then I sat on my couch like so much fish.

I then watched episodes seven and eight of Downton Abbey and both were terrific and amongst the best of the series. A wonderful final episode of series three and now I’ve got the Christmas movie to watch when the US set comes next week. I’ll very much look forward to that.

Then I prepped the eBlast for this morning’s releases. Then I sent out the e-mail announcing that episode five of Outside the Box was up and running. If you haven’t seen it, check it out at our new home at broadwayworld.com. All in all a very nice day, as you can see. Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because I really must get as much beauty sleep as possible before arising at six in the morning.

Today, I shall arise at six in the morning to announce the two new Kritzerland CDs, after which I may or may not go back to bed. If not, I shall begin finessing, futzing and fixing yesterday’s writing and then I shall begin the penultimate chapter, which will probably be a bit longer than the other chapters in the book as there are a lot of things that need to happen and get wrapped up. I do have a couple of decisions to make about certain things, but I enjoy that. I’ll also hopefully print out a LOT of orders, eat, and hopefully pick up some packages. But the order of the day for the most part is writing and trying to finish the penultimate chapter.

Tomorrow, I have a morning teeth cleaning with Dr. Chew. I’ll probably eat after that, and then come directly home to begin the final chapter of the book or, if I haven’t finished the penultimate chapter, to finish that and then move on to the final chapter. Either way, mostly a day of writing. The rest of the week is finishing what I haven’t finished, printing out the pages, Xeroxing, getting the rest of the book to Muse Margaret, who I hope will like it, meetings, work sessions and meals.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, announce two new titles, I must finesse, futz and fix, write new pages, eat, hopefully print out a LOT of orders, hopefully pick up some packages, and write. Today’s topic of discussion: For our Downton Abbey fans (with spoiler alerts, if necessary), what have been your favorite episodes of the series? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, where I shall count the days until The Weather Channel announces its brilliant new conception of original dramatic programming and hope we get lots of views for Outside the Box episode five.
