THE LACK OF A TITLE OR THE DEVIATED SEPTUM

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, this week has flown by, like a gazelle with a deviated septum. And now I must write these notes in a hurry because I have been lax, oh, yes, I have been lax in beginning them on time – instead I’ve been choosing the audio samples for our two upcoming releases and just trying to clear everything off my plate for a continuous day of writing today.

Yesterday was quite an interesting day. I woke up at nine. That was interesting. I got right out of bed and answered some e-mails and as soon as I had my faculties about me I began finessing, futzing and fixing the previous day’s writing. That took a bit of time, and once I finished doing that I wrote a whopping one new page. I then had a visit from Mike Matessino, who works on many of our Kritzerland CDs. After that, I sat down and wrote three more pages, then took a break, picked up a couple of packages, then came home and wrote five more pages, passing page 200, which was my goal for the day. Then I had a lovely telephonic conversation with Mr. Adrian Zmed, who’ll be joining our next Kritzerland show as a second guest star. We’re still waiting to hear about our final cast member, which we’ll hopefully hear about today. It’s a little unnerving being this far along and not having our complete cast – once I know who that person is, then I’ll send out the mp3s and sheet music pronto.

Then I got ready for the arrival of the person I haven’t seen in thirty years. Said person ended up being an hour late, thanks to very bad traffic. We went directly to eat, since I hadn’t eaten anything all the livelong day. We went over to the Eclectic Café where I had the eclectic Caesar salad to start, then their yummilicious angel hair pasta with Cajun chicken bits. For dessert we split their wonderful crème brulee. We had a lovely time catching up.

Then we came back here and chatted some more and then the person moseyed on home, whilst I wrote another two pages but not finishing the chapter I’m on, just so I can pick up with that first thing this morning. There’s just another paragraph or two to go, then I begin the next chapter. Obviously I had no time to watch motion pictures or Downton Abbey episodes or even look at the new Blu and Rays of the original Hitchcock The Man Who Knew Too Much or Woody Allen’s latest, To Rome, With Love, which I’m kind of dreading anyway. Then I listened to some music, had another telephonic conversation, and I believe that was my day and that was my evening. I wish there was more interesting things to report, but basically I’m in hibernation mode when I’m writing and just trying to concentrate on that.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because I really must get a good night’s beauty sleep.

Today, I shall finesse, futz and fix yesterday’s writing and then I shall move directly on to new pages. I’m really intending to get most of the writing done during the day and I really want to do twelve pages if that’s at all possible. I’m really in the heat of the finish now and don’t want to dawdle, Amaryllis. Then I must hopefully pick up some packages. Somewhere around four, one of the Staitman girls, Sami to be precise, and Sami’s mum will come by and steal me for an early dinner, which I’ll need. I really want to go somewhere fun or interesting. Then whatever pages I haven’t finished I’ll finish as soon as I return, and then I’ll probably watch at least two Downton Abbey episodes. I’ll also send as many singers their music as possible.

Tomorrow there are several things happening so I’m going to have to get up early and get at least three or four pages done by noon. Then I have a work session with a singer – that’s supposed to last until three, but hopefully it will be done sooner than that. Then I’ll try to get another page or two done and then I’ll meet dear reader KevinH for a meal. I was trying to work out seeing Peter Pan with him, but I just can’t – I really have to keep plugging away at the writing when I get back. I did hear from our very own Mr. Brent Barrett, so I will see him for a meal and maybe I’ll see the show before it closes. Sunday is another twelve to three work session, I think, but I don’t believe I have any other plans that day, so I should be fine. Monday I have a teeth cleaning with Dr. Chew, but other than that next week is all writing all the time.

Let’s all put on our pointy party hats and our colored tights and pantaloons, let’s all break out the cheese slices and the ham chunks, let’s all dance the Hora or the Virginia Reel, for today is the birthday of that prime slice of Kentucky ham, our very own Mr. Charles Pogue. So, let’s give a big haineshisway.com birthday cheer to that prime slice of Kentucky ham, our very own Mr. Charles Pogue. On the count of three: One, two, three – A BIG HAINESHISWAY.COM BIRTHDAY CHEER TO THAT PRIME SLICE OF KENTUCKY HAM, MR. CHARLES POGUE!!!

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, finesse, futz and fix, I must write lots o’ new pages, I must hopefully pick up some packages, I must have a fun meal, I must write, and then I must relax. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Friday – what is currently in your CD player and your DVD/video player? I’ll start – CD, I got the isolated scores to Experiment in Terror and Lost Horizon burned to CD and I’m enjoying those. Blu and Ray, more Downton Abbey. Your turn. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland – I just realized that I lack a title for today’s notes. I hate when that happens, when I lack a title – oh, well, I think it will be The Deviated Septum.
