VALENTINE’S DAY OR GLAZED NUTS

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I have made a discovery.  Yes, you heard it here, dear readers, I, BK, have made a discovery and that discovery is called Glazed Nuts, from a company called Sahale.  The particular Glazed Nuts I have discovered from Sahale, who makes quite a few different Glazed Nuts is almonds glazed with honey, CRANBERRIES and sea salt.  They are quite addictive, these Glazed Nuts, and I don’t know about you, but anytime I can have Glazed Nuts I’m having them.  I recommend these Glazed Nuts in particular.  I cannot speak to their other Glazed Nuts, as I am loyal to one Glazed Nuts at a time – I believe in Glazed Nuts monogamy if you get my drift, and I’m sure you do.

And there we had an entire paragraph about Glazed Nuts.  I ask you, where else on all the Internet can you find a paragraph about Glazed Nuts, especially on Valentine’s Day.  Yes, today is Valentine’s Day and I have celebrated it by having some Glazed Nuts.  So, dear readers, be my Valentine, won’t you?  And I will be your Valentine and then we’ll all be each other’s Valentines and there will be sweetness and light all over the land, in abundance.  I will hug and be hugged, I tell you.  I will go out in the City of Studio and I will hug anyone I please and I’m sure that will rub certain people the wrong way and I’m all about THAT.

Yesterday was the day before Valentine’s Day and I do believe I hugged some people anyway, just for the halibut.  I got up quite late – ten-fifteen – and then I answered e-mails, did work on the computer, had a brief visit, and then I went and had chicken tenders (only five tiny ones this time) and a bagel and cream cheese.  Then I picked up a package, then came home.  I did more work on the computer, then read about thirty more pages of the Samantha Geimer book.  I got all the singers their music, although I’m still looking for one final song for our very own RYacko, which I’ll find today so I can get him his three numbers.

Then it was time to go to the theater.  I left at five-twenty and took Beverly Glen – which was HORRIBLE.  It took forty-five minutes to get to Overland.  And Overland was WORSE.  By the time I even approached Venice Blvd. it was obvious there was some kind of accident down there, so I turned off and took side streets down.  Once on Venice, I got to the theater in ten minutes.  The total running time of the twenty-five minute drive was one hour and five minutes.

Once there, I watched Dana Dewes work her solos, gave her one little note, and then just relaxed until show time.  We had a house that was two-thirds full, not bad for a Thursday night. Richard Sherman brought his beautiful Elizabeth to the show – I haven’t come out and said that this week, just in case – it was a surprise for her.  And happily, we had a great and very vocal audience and the show was terrific, as were the cast.  We also had a dear lurker there, Dennis, and he told me he enjoyed the show very much.  The show is really fun when we have a responsive audience.  After, Richard was his usual gracious self with the cast.  Here’s a lovely photograph of Richard, Sami and li’l ol’ me.

Then I came back to the Valley, stopped at Gelson’s, since I hadn’t had all that much food, and got some Super Chinese Slaw, a little bit of mac-and-cheese and a bit of seafood salad from the salad bar.  Then I came home and ate it all up, whilst answering e-mails.

Today, I must be up no later than nine, for I have a nine-thirty breakfast meeting.  Once that’s over, then it’s writing liner notes, hopefully picking up some packages, and relaxing and watching motion pictures – I just got five count them five new Twilight Time releases and I think I might just start with The Eddy Duchin Story.  The other titles are The Front, Crimes and Misdemeanors, The Blue Max, and Thunderbolt and Lightfoot.

Tomorrow, I’ll be relaxing and writing, and then I’m seeing our show, after which we’ll be going to Ruth’s Chris again.  Don’t ask.  Sunday, most of the day will be judging the finals of the singing contest at The Federal.  I like doing the finals because we just give points, no yakking like last week.  Next week there’s a lot of stuff happening.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, have a breakfast meeting, write, hopefully pick up packages and watch motion pictures.  Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Friday – what is currently in your CD player and your DVD/Blu and Ray player?  I’ll start – well, you’ve heard all the Blu-rays so: Your Turn.  Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, where I shall dream of Glazed Nuts with CRANBERRIES and Valentine’s Day.
