July 2, 2014:

THE REVOLTING BODY

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I am about as tired as tired can be, and yet I must be up at eight-thirty for a nine o’clock meeting here.  Last night I got a whopping five hours of sleep and that’s been happening way too much and my body is beginning to revolt, which is revolting in itself.  Or, as my close personal friend, Mr. Chester A. Riley said, “What a revoltin’ development this is.”  Am I kvetching?  I believe I’m kvetching.  Kvetching is not very fetching.  Perhaps I should just write some damn notes and be done with it.

Yesterday was a day in which I was tired.  I fell asleep around one-thirty and woke up at three-thirty and was then up until seven thirty.  I fell back asleep until about ten.  Once up, my equilibrium was a bit off, but I managed to answer some e-mails and have some telephonic conversations, and I finished and finessed the liner notes and got them on their merry way.  Then I had some lunch, which consisted of two items – a ham and Swiss on rye and some tap tap tapioca pudding.  I didn’t even have the energy to go to the mail place, so I came home and did some more work on the computer and then waited to have a little meeting at the home environment.  That took about an hour, and if you wouldn’t mind, just send some excellent vibes and xylophones that the meeting yields a successful outcome because it will make July a stress-free month.  After that, I made two of those low-cal no-fat hot dog things for my evening snack and sat on my couch like so much fish.

Last night, I watched one and a half motion pictures on Netflix.  The first motion picture was entitled Double Jeopardy, a late 90s thriller starring Tommy Lee Jones and Ashley Judd.  As I watched the first twenty minutes or so I figured out all the “surprises” but I enjoyed it and was surprised I hadn’t seen the movie before.  But as soon as Tommy Lee Jones showed up I remembered I had seen it before, undoubtedly when it came out.  As these things go, it was a decent film with good performances and it was well directed by Bruce Beresford.  Then I watched half of a second motion picture entitled Single White Female – I definitely saw that one on home video back in the day, but I didn’t remember much about it so I just fired it up.  It’s decent so far but I remember it going into overdone territory at about the halfway point, so we’ll see if I still feel that way when I finish it at some point today.

Today, I shall be up early to have a short meeting here at nine, after which I may just go back to bed.  Then I have to write another set of liner notes, hopefully get some packaging in for approval, get a little relaxation in, hopefully pick up some packages, and then have another meeting in the late afternoon.

Tomorrow is our second Kritzerland rehearsal, Friday is a fourth of July partay at neighbor Tony Slide and Bob Gitt’s home environment, Saturday is our stumble-through, and Sunday is sound check and show.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, have an early meeting, write, hopefully get packaging in for approval, hopefully pick up some packages and have an afternoon meeting and, of course, eat something at some point.  Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Ask BK Day, the day in which you get to ask me or any dear reader any old question you like and we get to give any old answer we like.  So, let’s have loads of lovely questions and loads of lovely answers and loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland where I shall hopefully get some needed sleep so that I can alleviate the revolting body.
