THREE ADAMS

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I was back at the Bewitched Fan Event at the Sportsman’s Lodge yesterday and an extraordinary thing happened – we had all three Adams there – the original Adam from the series, the Adam from the first Tabitha pilot (me) and the Adam from the twelve-episode Tabitha series.  I’d say that was rather historic, wouldn’t you?  And guess what?  We have photographic proof of this historic event and here it is for your mental and ocular delectation.

Left to right, me, David Ankrum (the Tabitha series Adam) and the original Adam (now grown up), David Lawrence.  One interesting thing that was pointed out the other night was that everyone who thinks our original Tabitha pilot was misspelled as Tabatha is incorrect – Tabatha was the original spelling we were told.  It changed at some point.  Also in attendance was the original Bewitched Tabatha/Tabitha, Erin Murphy and here is photographic proof that she is still beautiful, surrounded on either side by two of her Adams.

It was a bit disorganized yesterday, but I met some nice folks, sold a book, and they had me-as-Adam photos for me to sign.  I was there about two-and-a-half hours, then my helper for the day and I went to the Hamburger Hamlet.  We had popcorn shrimp (I only ate three), I had eggs benedict and a tiny side of Those Potatoes, and then we had some wings with apricot sauce – I only ate three of those.  For dessert we split the egg custard Lulu – we left a third of it, so we each had a third – it was yummilicious.

Then I came home.  A bit later I had a foot rub – it was great – I think I even dozed off for a minute during it.  Then I had an errand or two to do, came back home and looked at the Sandy photos from last week’s photo shoot, wrote down some numbers of ones I liked, and then I finally sat on my couch like so much fish.

Last night, I watched two motion pictures on Netflix.  The first motion picture was entitled Rage, starring Nicholas Cage.  Yes, you heard that right, dear readers – it was a Cage Rage.  I’m not sure the film actually even came out – I can find no record of any box-office figures although I read it came out in February of this year.  It’s yet another mind-bogglingly bad Nicholas Cage movie – horribly written, horribly directed, and Mr. Cage is beginning to look like he’s on display at a wax museum.  And his hair.  Not only the shoe polish color, but it just appears to be glued to his head.  I’m fascinated that anyone puts up money for these stinkers – I’m sure Mr. Cage gets a hefty paycheck, but he hasn’t had a hit film in many, many years.  In fact, he’s had one flop after another, none of them make one cent of their investment back, yet someone has the $25 million to make a terrible film.  It is an enigma wrapped up inside a conundrum.

I then watched the second motion picture, which was a 2004 thriller entitled Twisted, starring Ashley Judd, Andy Garcia and Samuel L. Jackson, directed by Philip Kaufman.  Mr. Kaufman is occasionally an interesting director, and the film has its nice visual touches, but in the end it’s a stinker, too.  Strictly Screenwriting 101 badness with character red herrings that are completely specious.  One of the things the killer does in the film is leave a cigarette burn on the victim’s hand.  Therefore, EVERY suspect smokes.  It would be amusing if it wasn’t pathetic.  Then our female detective heroine keeps having blackouts and wakes up the following morning not knowing what she’s done during the blackout, therefore making her a suspect, too, since she knew all the victims.  Now, just prior to every blackout, she drinks a big ol’ glass of red wine.  Wouldn’t you think, being a smart detective and all, that it just might occur to her after the fourth time that the wine might be spiked?  But noooooo.  In the end, there have been so many red herrings and bad plot turns that you don’t even care who the killer is.

After that, I just did some work on the computer, relaxed and listened to some upcoming Kritzerland projects.

Today, I shall write some liner notes, I shall relax, and then I’m attending the opening of Kiss Me, Kate at the Pasadena Playhouse.  After, I’m sure I’ll go eat something fun.  I should know quite a few people in attendance.

Tomorrow evening we finish the Sandy vocal comps.  Tuesday evening I finesse the mixes and get them so I’m completely happy with them.  Wednesday day I have a work session for the Kritzerland show, then that evening Lanny Meyers comes and listens to the mixes and gives us his little notes.  The rest of the week is meetings and meals, and then doing the Ray Courts celebrity signing event Friday night and Saturday.

Let’s all put on our pointy party hats and our colored tights and pantaloons, let’s all break out the cheese slices and the ham chunks, let’s all dance the Hora or the Swim, for today is the birthday of our beloved dear reader dear reader Laura.  So, let’s give a big haineshisway.com birthday cheer to our beloved dear reader dear reader Laura.  On the count of three: One, two, three – A BIG HAINESHISWAY.COM BIRTHDAY CHEER TO OUR BELOVED DEAR READER DEAR READER LAURA!!!

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, write, relax, attend an opening night and sup.  Today’s topic of discussion: It’s free-for-all day, the day in which you dear readers get to make with the topics and we all get to post about them.  So, let’s have loads of lovely topics and loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, having been part of the historic Three Adams day.
