THE DARLING DAUGHTER™ PAYS A VISIT

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, it was a day-after-Christmas kind of day, which is appropriate since it was the day after Christmas and kind of a day.  I actually got about eight hours of sleep, so that was a good thing.  Once up, I heard from the Darling Daughter™ that she’d be here around three-thirty or so.  So, I went out and had some chicken tenders to tide me over.  Jerry’s Deli was all but empty, but they told me they were open on Christmas and there was a four-page waiting list.  Go know.  After that, I went and picked up a couple of small packages, then came home.  I did some work at the piano then took a shower and then the daughter arrived.

We spent an hour chatting and exchanging gifts and we had lots o’ laughs.  Then at six we went to the Eclectic Café to have a little food.  We both had Caesar salads, and had a mac-and-cheese that we picked at – it’s usually great there, but this time was mediocre – I only had about two bites.  After that, we came back here and then she was on her merry way.

Then I had two long telephonic conversations, followed by a touch of work on the computer.  All songs have been chosen now and I’ve just got one more song I need music for. I also did a first pass at the show order, which seems pretty good to me.  I have one additional idea for the show and I’ll see if I can make it happen.  I never had time to finish watching a motion picture.

Today, I shall be up early because she of the Evil Eye will arrive at nine.  I’ll go do some errands and whatnot, eat a light breakfast, hopefully pick up some packages, then come home.  Once home, I’ll get our musical director all the music and mp3s he’ll need and get all the singers their music – some of them already have it, but there are just a few that don’t.  Then I’ll finish watching The Fortune, and then move onto another motion picture or three.

Tomorrow, I may or may not have a dinner thing, but either way I’ll just be spending the day relaxing and watching movies and writing the commentary for the January Kritzerland show.  I don’t know what’s happening on Monday, Tuesday I have a work session and lunch, and at some point a work session with our musical director.  Wednesday night is, of course, our Annual New Year’s Rockin’ Eve bash right here at haineshisway.com.  This is the place to be on New Year’s Eve.  It’s always a safe and splendidly splendid partay and we do two countdowns to New Year’s as we watch our balls drop – one on the East Coast and one on the West Coast.  As always, I’ll be here, I’ll do my “thing” at eleven-thirty and then we will welcome in 2015.  Thursday I begin a new novel and then go to Barry Pearl’s New Year’s Day partay.  Then I relax for the rest of the holiday weekend and then it’s right into a hugely busy week of Kritzerland rehearsals and then show.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, do errands and whatnot, eat, do a little banking, pay some Kritzerland bills, hopefully pick up packages and then relax.  Today’s topic of discussion: If you could go back in time in our haineshisway.com Time Machine™ and attend one motion picture in its original roadshow engagement, which would it be and why that film?  Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy to have had a lovelier than lovely visit with the Darling Daughter™.
