KRITZERLAND A GOGO CAMPAIGN END OF WEEK TWO – 25% FUNDED OR CLIMB EV’RY MOUNTAIN

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, yesterday was the close of week two of the Kritzerland a GoGo Indiegogo campaign.  We are inching ever upwards and that’s a good thing.  After two weeks out of our eight-week campaign we are 25% funded.  I’m told that’s pretty good.  Of course, we have a long way to go, so keep spreadin’ the word wherever you can.  I’m hoping by the next update in a week that we can maybe get to 30%.  I am told that in the final week or so of the campaign that there will be a surge like we had in week one.  But we do have to go up every week, that’s the only way we’re going to make it.  So, that’s this week’s update.  And now, the notes.

Yesterday was a day with no annoyances and we need another day of no annoyances today (really important) so do send your most excellent vibes and xylophones for a day with no annoyances.  I cannot tell a lie, though, and I will say I am occasionally feeling uneasy about a few things, but hopefully they’ll all work out fine.  I think we lost a project this week, which is a shame.  As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, I was originally led to believe that whatever money was pledged via Paypal would come in immediately, but sadly that’s not the case, and, in fact, we won’t actually get the money until fifteen days after the close of the campaign, which closes on the last day of June.  There are other projects I wish we could lock up right now, but without that money we just can’t, unless, as I keep mentioning, some kind benefactor feels like advancing us a few centimes until we get our money.  In any case, I got about four hours of sleep, announced our new title, printed out orders as they came in, but couldn’t go back to sleep because the helper was coming at 9:15.  Only the helper didn’t come at 9:15 because the helper got up late.  So, I could have gone back to sleep.  I did go back to sleep for about thirty minutes, though.

Then I had to go to my lunch meeting, which was at Tony’s Bella Vista Eyetalian restaurant in the Bank of Bur.  I’ve eaten there several times.  They have really good salad dressing, so I got a submarine sandwich (basically ham and salami), which came with a teeny-tiny bit of salad on the side, as well as about an ounce of pasta with marinara sauce.  It was all yummilicious.  Then I picked up no packages, then did some banking, then came home.

Once home, I printed out more orders, finished a first pass show order, which I’m not completely happy with just yet, but it’s close, had a couple of telephonic calls and then finally sat on my couch like so much fish.

Last night, I watched three more episodes of The Honeymooners, which all had some great comedy bits with superb timing.  I just can’t get over how brilliant Audrey Meadows was in these shows – she was only thirty at the time.  Then I decided to go back and watch the first two episodes of Mad Men, just to get ready for the final episode on Sunday.  It was very interesting seeing how they were setting up certain things and also interesting to see these characters back at the beginning, when some of the actors hadn’t quite settled into their characters yet.  I realized how much fun my pal Bryan Batt was as Sal – I’d forgotten his laugh-out-loud line at a stag party in episode one.  And watching it, I just realized that Peggy Olson is one of the great series characters ever.  And Elizabeth Moss is a bit of a miracle as Peggy, with never a false moment, no matter what she’s being asked to play.  She’s always been my favorite character in the show.

After that, I made a couple of eggs and had a piece of ham – all very low in calorie, and then some berries.  I printed out a few more orders and that was that.

Today, I will try to have a relaxing day, hopefully without too many uneasy feelings, and hopefully with no annoyances.  I’ll hopefully pick up some packages (I’ve been waiting oh so patiently for my MAC award, which former dear reader Julie told me had gone out a week and a half ago, but yesterday she found out that the person tasked with sending them out, hadn’t because he’s getting married and was too busy with that.  I’ve been assured it’s going out on Monday.  Then I’m joining Barry Pearl and his ever-lovin’ Cindy for dinner at the Coral Café, after which we’ll all mosey on over to the Group Rep theater to see the new Doug Haverty and Adryan Russ musical, Love Again, directed by the wonderful Kay Cole.

Tomorrow, she of the Evil Eye is coming, so I’ll go to Gelson’s and get the cake for the signing, then I’ll kill some time until noon.  Then I’ll get ready and mosey on over to Mystery and Imagination Books in the Dale of Glen for our two o’clock book signing.  I’m really hoping for a decent turnout.  I just never ever know.  After the signing I’m hoping some folks want to go grab a bite to eat and there are a lot of places around there so it’s easy to do so.  I think I’ll probably stay home in the evening.  Sunday is unknown to me – I may ask for a little work session, or I’ll just write my commentary and then settle in to watch the final episode of Mad Men.  Next week is meetings and meals and attending to things.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, have a relaxing day, hopefully print out more orders, hopefully pick up packages, eat and then attend an opening night.  Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Friday – what is currently in your CD player and your DVD/Blu and Ray player?  I’ll start.  CD, who knows anymore?  Blu and Ray, more Honeymooners and maybe the new Twilight Time Blu-ray of April Love.  Your turn.  Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy we’ve gotten to 25% of our funding goal and hoping we keep climbing ev’ry mountain.
