THE FITTED PIQUE

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, is July really half over? Really? Really really? This year is flying by, like a gazelle having a fit of pique. Have you ever had a pique fit? My pique is always loose and doesn’t look very good. Perhaps my pique has peaked? In any case, July is half over and that’s all there is to it. No use crying over spilt milk, as my mother used to say. Of course, I never cried over spilt milk because I hated milk. As I wrote in Benjamin Kritzer, I laughed over spilled milk. Well, perhaps I’d better write some notes before I have a form-fitting fit of pique.

Yesterday was an okay day. I didn’t get to sleep until after three-thirty and I slept until eleven, so not quite eight hours. Once up, I had a lot of e-mails to answer and then I went and had a turkey sandwich and no fries or onion rings. After that, I went to a car wash in the Oaks of Sherman and got the motor car bathed and hand waxed – first time in four months – it looks ever so pretty now. I had to be strong and constrain myself from walking across the street to K’s Donuts to buy a chocolate peanut butter thing. After the bathing of the motor car, I came directly home.

Once home, I buckled down Winsocki and wrote most of the commentary – only two more songs to talk about and then that’s done. Then I did some preparatory work on the Welcome to My World cast album packaging – we’re trying to get that ready so that all we have to do in late August is drop in some photographs and get it right to the printers so we can have CDs by opening night. It will be tight, but I think we can do it. Then I sat on my couch like so much fish.

Last night, I watched a motion picture on the Flix of Net entitled Hostage, starring Mr. Bruce Willis and a cast of other actors I’ve never heard of. I thought it would be dreary, but it’s actually pretty okay, well paced and based on a Robert Crais novel. It’s almost two hours but it all moves very quickly.

After that, I listened to music, had a couple of those low-cal tortilla things, the replacement helper came by and then I just relaxed. Oh, and I talked to someone I’m hoping will be the line producer of Welcome to My World, and my stage manager for Li’l Abner and Inside Out has worked out her schedule so she can do Welcome to My World. Now I just have to convince the lighting designer to fly back and light the show – I really want him to do it.

Today, I will finish the commentary (unless I just finish it after posting these here notes), and then I’ll eat a little something, I will absolutely positively jog, I’ll hopefully pick up packages and I have some errands and whatnot to do.

Tomorrow is more of the same, Saturday evening I have a dinner partay, and Sunday will hopefully be a day of resting. Then things get busy again.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, finish the commentary, eat, jog, hopefully pick up packages, and relax. Today’s topic of discussions: What are your favorite motion pictures featuring Bruce Willis? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, after which I shall get up and dress in a fitted pique.
