STUMBLING THROUGH AND SEXTING

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, we had our stumble-through – I always love the stumble-through day even when they’re a bit rough, which yesterday’s was, but only a bit. It’s a long show so I tightened some things after and gave the notes I had and it should all be good to go this evening. I can make further adjustments if necessary at sound check. But it’s a really fun show that has a little of everything – pretty April songs, pretty spring songs, and a lot of comedy – again, I don’t want to give certain things away but will in tomorrow’s notes.

Prior to the stumble-through I was up early after probably seven hours of sleep. I went and had an omelet, picked up the prior day’s mail (which didn’t get to the mail place until after four), then did some banking, after which I came home. Then I did some work on the computer and relaxed until everyone arrived.

After, I went to Gelson’s and got three baby back ribs and a little no-calorie salad for my evening snack. I came home and ate it all up whilst watching a truly horrible documentary on the Flix of Net about sexting. I mean, really. Most of the people interviewed were porn actors, so you know how seriously we’re going to take that. I fell asleep at some point and that was the best part of the documentary.

Then I did some more work on the computer, listened to music, listened to Grant’s completed long version of our song, which is about what a melting pot LA is – his music is really cool and we’re sharing the lyricist credit, as he came up with two lines in the bridge. All in all, a pleasantly pleasant day.

Today, I’ll hopefully arise after a good night’s beauty sleep. Do keep sending excellent vibes and xylophones for a healthy me and especially a healthy voice. I’ll relax, I may attempt a jog, and then I’ll get ready and mosey on over to The Federal for sound check and then our show. We should have a nice-size crowd, or so I’m told. I will, of course, have a full report for you.

Tomorrow I have a meeting with our costume designer, I’ll cast the May Kritzerland show and assign the songs (most of which I’ve already chosen), I’ll eat, I’ll hopefully pick up packages, hopefully hear about the book order, and then work on the LA show. The rest of the week is all about the LA show – making sure the cast has as much of the music as possible before we begin, getting the choreographer tracks to work with and planning out the first two weeks of rehearsals in terms of what’s rehearsing when. I also have some meetings and meals and a couple of shows to see.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, maybe do a jog, relax, go to sound check, do a show, and then go to Little Toni’s after for some food. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s free-for-all day, the day in which you dear readers get to make with the topics and we all get to post about them. So, let’s have loads of lovely topics and loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy to have stumbled through the stumble-through and not happy to have watched a bad documentary on sexting. I personally have never sexted. I have never sent a photo of any part of me on Snapchat. I’m just letting you all know that just in case you think I had.
