THE FORMER AND THE LATTER

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I’m guessing I had a relaxing day yesterday, that is what I’m guessing. First of all, I slept ten hours, not arising until one o’clock. Therefore I missed the morning, although I’m not at all certain the morning missed me. I woke up with a headache and I must say I still have it. I kept forgetting to take some Excedrin, which I finally did about ten minutes ago. The first thing I did at one o’clock was to have an hour-long fun conversation with actress/singer Crista Moore, who is performing on one of those Disney cruise ship things. It was lovely to catch up with her. After that, I answered many e-mails and then went and picked up a week’s worth of mail and packages – not a lot of the latter, but some of the former. Did you know that if you put former and latter together you get fatter? I gotta tell you.

After that, I went over to Jerry’s Deli – haven’t been there in a week. I decided it was time to try the nachos, but that’s really kind of a dopey decision if you’re not sharing. I ate about half and while they were good they were not a patch on the butt cheeks of the Coral Café. I felt kind of gross after all those nachos. Then I came home and had a couple more telephonic calls. I wasn’t in the mood for viewing anything, so I wrote a little over half the commentary, but my head hurt so I stopped and I’ll definitely finish tomorrow night. It was nice to relax but part of me missed rehearsing. Go know.

I just played on the computer after that. Not much to report but we’ll be making up for that this week, which is extremely busy with many things happening.

Today, for example, I’ll be up by nine-thirty, so I can be ready for our eleven-thirty Kritzerland rehearsal. If I have time I’ll do some banking beforehand, otherwise that will have to wait until tomorrow morning. Directly after the Kritzerland rehearsal I have to go to our LA show rehearsal and hopefully I’ll just beat the rush hour traffic. I won’t have had any time to eat, though, so that will have to wait until after rehearsal. Then I’ll come home and finish the commentary – it will be nice to have that out of the way.

Tomorrow and Wednesday we rehearse, of course, Thursday is our second Kritzerland rehearsal followed by the LA show rehearsal, Friday is our long day, Saturday we may have a two-hour music rehearsal, and then we have our stumble-through, and Sunday is sound check and show. I guess I can reveal here that our opening number at the Kritzerland show will be the entire company of the LA show doing its opening number.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, have a Kritzerland rehearsal, have an LA show rehearsal, have some food, and finish writing the commentary. Today’s topic of discussion: Who were your early inspirations, the people who inspired you to want to learn things or to do things? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, hoping that the headache will finally abate and that I’ll get a good night’s beauty sleep – in other words I’d like both the former and the latter aka fatter.
