THE NEW WAIST SIZE

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but somehow September has come to an end? What the HELL happened to this month – it was here and now we’re in the final day. I gotta tell you. But that means that tomorrow we have a brand new month, October, and it is my fervent hope and prayer that October will be a month filled with health, wealth, happiness, creativity, and all things bright and beautiful. Yesterday we had a really good second rehearsal – this is a very strong cast and they were pretty much on top of the material, which is always appreciated by the likes of me. We added eleven-year-old Hadley Miller to the mix – she’s doing a song from Seussical called Alone in the Universe. She ran it a couple of times and I gave her some little notes and it’s going to be excellent. The songs are a pleasure to here and, of course, none of them are really overexposed, so that’s nice, too.

Prior to that, it was another seven-and-a-half hours of sleep, then the usual morning stuff. I knew I didn’t want to leave the house to eat as I knew I was going out after rehearsal for a little food and meeting. So, I continued doing what I’ve been doing – cleaning out junk, this time the bedroom closet. So many clothes that I have no intention of ever wearing again so I got it all out of there and out in the yard, where I’ll ask if she of the Evil Eye would like any of it. Then I did a bit of writing, had one of those biscotti things to tide me over to dinner, had some telephonic conversations, and did yet another three-and-a-half mile jog. I’m going to try and stick to the three-and-a-half miles for the next week, hoping that I can kick-start the next level of weight loss. One interesting thing – I put on a pair of jeans that I haven’t been able to put on in over three years and they fit, so I’m definitely down a waist size and going for the next waist size in the next few weeks. Also, we went up to 98% in the Kickstarter campaign, so just seventy-five bucks more and we reach the goal. However, I can already see they’re taking almost four hundred dollars in fees – the Indiegogo fees, the Paypal fees, etc. so I’m hoping we can go above our goal and make that money back as we kind of need every cent of this to pay for the band and sound rental and engineer package. We’re also going to put tickets up for sale next week.

At four-thirty, Elizabeth Sherman arrived with her granddaughter Mandy (Amanda) Wolf. Richard was off at a meeting and couldn’t be with us. Mandy loves performing and Elizabeth wanted me to hear her sing. So, she did two numbers for me and she’s very talented and I told her straight out she could be in the February all-kids Kritzerland show. She was really excited, as she’s seen several of our shows.

Then we did our rehearsal. After that, I went and had a chili, cheese, an onion omelet and an English muffin whilst having a brief meeting. Then I came home. I never did have time to get to the mail place, but I’ll do that today. Then I just relaxed until it was time to write these here notes.

Today, I’ll write some more, I’ll do another long jog, I’ll hopefully pick up packages, I’ll eat, and then I’m seeing a nightclub act – Rob Stevens invited me when Adryan Russ had to cancel, and since I didn’t really have plans I said fine. We’re seeing singer Peish McPhee, mom of Katherine McPhee, over at Catalina Bar and Grill, the same club I was in last week. Thankfully I don’t have to dine there this time.

Tomorrow I must be up early for she of the Evil Eye will be here, and I’ll do an early jog, then go do some stuff – for the second month in a row we have to do an early stumble-through at noon, which means she’ll have to clean the living room early. I’ll come back at eleven-fifteen and Hadley Miller is coming at eleven-thirty to run her number again. Then we do our stumble-through and I’m sure a few of us will get a bite to eat after. Sunday is, of course, sound check and show. Then next week is super busy, finishing casting the November show – we’re actually quite ahead on it and only need two more gals – setting up the ticket sales for The Brain concert, and all manner of other things.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, write, do a jog, hopefully pick up packages, eat, and then see a nightclub show. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Friday – what is currently in your CD player and your DVD/video player? I’ll start – CD, upcoming Kritzerland stuff. Blu-ray, a new batch of Twilight Time releases. Your turn. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy to finally have a new waist size and ready to go down to the next waist size.
