AND SO – YESTERDAY

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I must write these notes in a hurry because I forgot that I must be at LACC at nine o’clock this morning to meet with potential costume designers for Levi, which means I have to be up at seven forty-five to shower and get on the road by eight-ten as one never knows how traffic will be. And so – yesterday.

Yesterday was okay – no disasters, really, at least none that I know of, and I got some stuff done, so that’s good. What I did not do was finish casting the damn Kritzerland show and I have to do that. I’ve got one gal and one guy and I’ve put out a feeler to another guy. But I must get this done and choose the damn songs and get everyone their damn music. I did get eight hours of sleep and then I did all the usual morning things, including answering e-mails, printing out a surprising number of orders (I really wasn’t sure how this release was going to do, and while it’s not going to break any records, we got more orders than I thought we would), and having some telephonic calls. The helper came by briefly and then I went to Gelson’s and got the ingredients for Wacky Noodles with some chicken. I came home and made the Wacky Noodles with sautéed chicken and then ate that all up, whilst beginning to work on the packaging for our next release.

I had a lovelier than lovely conversation with our very own Mr. Nick Redman, and a visit with Muse Margaret’s hubby, Richard. Then I buckled down, Winsocki and wrote an entire set of liner notes. I had the notes I’d previously written but I didn’t love them so rewrote a lot of it – it took a couple of hours but I got it done. I never got around to watching anything – I just listened to music and did stuff on the computer and also did a little organizing of things.

Today, I’ll be up very early, I’ll shower, and then I shall be on my way to LACC to meet with potential costumer designers for Levi. That will go to eleven and then I’ll decide whether to have some food at the House of Pies or just come back to the Valley and go to my usual hangout – I think I’m liking the idea of the House of Pies, frankly. I haven’t been there in a while. Then the afternoon will be spent figuring out the Kritzerland show. Then I’ll hopefully pick up some packages, and I’ll probably watch something or other.

Tomorrow I may or may not be going for a visit with Richard Sherman – if I do, I’ll stop at Genghis Cohen and get some food to bring there. I’ll know today. Friday I do a workshop at LACC for two hours, then go directly to meet Kay Cole at the Music Center. We’ll sup, then attend the opening night of The Red Shoes, which I’m very intrigued to see. I’m not sure what the weekend holds, but hopefully I can get some relaxing in. And hopefully keep the cloven hoof of negativity at bay for a few more days – so send most excellent vibes and xylophones.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, meet potential costume designers, eat, hopefully pick up packages, finish casting, choose songs, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Ask BK Day, the day in which you get to ask me or any dear reader any old question you like and we get to give any old answer we like. So, let’s have loads of lovely questions and loads of lovely answers and loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy to have finished writing these here notes, which I think I’ll call “And So – Yesterday.” Snappy.
