THE DAY THAT WASN’T A DAY

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I must write these here notes in a hurry for she of the Evil Eye will be here all too soon and I must get some semblance of beauty sleep. Speaking of beauty sleep, may I just say that yesterday was a day that wasn’t really a day.  I don’t know what exactly what it was but a day it wasn’t. As I write these here notes I am listening to singer Ute Lemper singing cabaret songs from Berlin in German and while I’m enjoying it I have no idea what the songs are actually about.  And that’s the way I feel about yesterday.  I enjoyed certain aspects of it but I have no idea what it was actually about.

I didn’t get to sleep until four and woke up before ten with not quite six hours of sleep and I was zonked from the get-go and also from the go-get.  I had a long telephonic conversation about many things, I answered some e-mails, but I was very logy and not all that coherent, so I went back to the bedroom environment and laid down again.  And I slept three-and-a-half hours until three-thirty. So, not only did the morning pretty much get by me, most of the day got by me and I was most discombobulated once up. I had a few things to attend to but choosing songs wasn’t in the mix, which I really should have done, but that will get done today.

I picked up one teeny-tiny package and no mail, I’m told all the Advise and Consent CDs shipped, and then the day was over and the complete Geissman clan – Grant, Lydia, and Greer and I went to Barone’s for a nice meal.  It was a good deal of fun with lots of merriment and mirth and laughter and legs.  I had a small salad to start, then shrimp scampi, which was excellent and very filling even though the calorie count was friendly.

After that, I came home, and then had a short visit, said visit including dessert in the form of ice cream sandwiches.  That was fun, too.  Then I finally sat on my couch like so much fish.

Last night, I began watching an interesting motion picture on the Flix of Net, just to pass the time, but it was compelling so I kept watching and will continue and finish after I finish writing and posting these here notes.  It’s called Remember and is from a couple of years ago – it stars the great Christopher Plummer and Martin Landau and is directed by Atom Egoyan.  I’m hoping it doesn’t devolve into stupidity before it’s over.  Then I began writing these here notes and the rest you know.

Today, I do have to be up early, and then I’ll go have a light breakfast.  Then I’ll hopefully pick up some packages, come home, choose at least half the songs for the Kritzerland show, then I’m going to visit Sami and her mom for a little while, then I’ll come home and choose more songs, then relax.

Tomorrow I am relaxing and just doing Kritzerland show stuff.  Then Monday evening we have our first audition session for A Carol Christmas, so I’m hoping that will be fun.  Then the rest of the week is meetings and meals and catching up and hopefully announcing at least one Kritzerland project.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up early, eat a light breakfast, hopefully pick up packages, have a visit with Sami and mom, choose songs, then relax.  Today’s topic of discussion: What are your favorite types of seafood and how do you like it prepared?  Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, hoping that today will be a day that is a day.
