A BIT OF SWEET AND THE VERY GOOD SECOND REHEARSAL

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, we had us a very good second Kritzerland rehearsal.  Everyone was up on their material, no one had to look at lyrics, even the gal who we had replace the young kid who wasn’t quite ready for us – she pretty much had that duet down cold.  The material is really fun for this one and I gave quite a bit more detailed direction today, and also did some staging. So, on to the stumble-through.

Yesterday, I only got about six hours of sleep due to an overactive brain and some nausea from the orange chicken.  Once up, I was hoping for some sweet but none was to be found.  So, I futzed and finessed quite a bit, then wrote about three new pages before taking a break.  I had some e-mail volleys and then got a message that would ultimately lead to some sweet later in the day.  It was nice to have that happen but we definitely still need more sweet to combat the bit of sour that’s still present.  Let’s make this sweet happen, baby, let’s make this sweet happen.

At some point after noon, I went to Taco Bell, because counting calories there is very simple and I had slightly under 1000 and it was a tasty Taco Bell day.  I called the mail place, but there was nothing there so I didn’t have to make that trip.  Then I continued the writing and managed to get to eight before having to get ready for our rehearsal.

Once rehearsal was over, which was around eight-fifteen, I wrote another few pages, answered some e-mails and then my stomach was telling me I should probably have a little snack, so I went to Gelson’s and got two tiny chicken tenders and about two ounces of mac-and-cheese, so I was still well under 1500 calories so that was good.

Then I continued writing and didn’t really stop until I’d done over fifteen pages. I didn’t mention it before, but I appear to be over halfway through the book.  And then it was time to write these here notes.

Today and this evening will be all writing all the time, although if I had my druthers, I’d love to get fifteen pages done by six or seven, so I can actually sit and relax and even watch something or listen to music.  I’ll eat something light and around 1000 calories, hopefully pick up some packages, hopefully have more needed sweet, and then relax.

Tomorrow, she of the Evil Eye will be here.  Normally, I’d go eat a light breakfast, but I’m going to try and write here for an hour or so, then do some scrounging around in the garage, then do some errands and whatnot and I’ll return around noon o’clock.  I’ll get ready for the stumble-through and I’ll write a couple of pages before it begins.  At two we do our stumble-through, after which I’ll give notes and do clean-up, then I’m going to an early dinner, then coming home at which point I will do a lot of writing.  I also have to futz and finesse the Kritzerland commentary.  Sunday, I’ll write and then we do our sound check followed by our show.  I believe we’re sold out right about now.  Then Monday I print out and Xerox and deliver pages to Muse Margaret and the rest of the week is meetings and meals and writing.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, futz and finesse, write, eat, hopefully pick up some packages, hopefully get some sweet, write, write, and then perhaps relax.  Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Friday – what is currently in your CD player and your DVD/Blu and ray player?  I’ll start – I have no idea.  Your turn.  Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy to have gotten a bit of sweet and that we had a very good second rehearsal.
