WORKING THE WORKSHOP

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I must write these here notes in a hurry because I completely forgot that I have to do a musical theatre workshop this morning at ten and therefore must be up very early.  I actually remembered about this when I was in bed last night, although I was reminded this morning, so that was a good safeguard.  We’re doing three of these over the coming months in anticipation of a fundraiser cabaret I’ll be directing and putting together for the Group Rep, featuring mostly Group Rep members and a couple of guest performers I’ll bring in.  The event takes place in June.

Yesterday wasn’t much of a day, but it was never less than pleasant, even when I had to deal with something that could have turned unpleasant but thankfully didn’t.  I got eight-and-a-half hours of sleep – I fell asleep around four and got up at twelve-thirty. Once up, I did a little of this and a little of that, then went and picked up a package, then went to Jerry’s Deli and got three pieces of lox and some cream cheese, then came home.  I’d already bought bagels, so that was my meal – bagels, lox, and cream cheese.  It was good and satisfying.  There wasn’t a whole lot beyond that.  Grant came by briefly and assured me he’d start on the book on Monday, so that will be good.  Then I had the talk and that went okay and I think the helper and I are now on the exact same page.

After that, I listened to some music, and then I listened to our next release – that master arrived and it sounds very good and has major bonus material that I think everyone will enjoy, a nice seventy-three-minute CD.  I sat on the couch like so much fish, just relaxing, not watching anything.  Then I came back to the computer and did some work on the packaging for the new release, typing up all the track titles and everything else for the inlay card, so all that’s left is whipping up some notes.  We’ll announce this show title next week.

Then I shaved so that I wouldn’t have to do it when I got up, then I listened to more music and relaxed.  So you see, it wasn’t much of a day one way or the other.  Oh, and I had no sweets whatsoever, first time in ages.  Oh, and I went on Amazon and bought some foodstuffs – Amazon pantry has incredible prices on things, sometimes a dollar or two less than any market would have.  So, I bought things like those hearty Campbell soup things, microwave rice in various flavors, and other small snack type stuff, all of it fairly low in calories so that if I must snack after my main meal it will be calorie friendly. I bought about eighteen items and already don’t remember what most of them are, so I’ll have a nice surprise on Tuesday when they arrive.

Today, I’ll be up early and then mosey on over to the Group Rep to do a three-hour workshop.  After that, I’ll eat something, either homemade or out.  The danger, of course, is that I’ll be very close to Dino’s Pizza and the Coral Café.  So, we shall see.  I’ll also hopefully pick up some packages, and then I’ll come home and relax for a bit, then begin the liner notes and get as much done as I can on those.  Then I’ll watch something, I’m sure.

Tomorrow is a ME day.  I don’t think I have anything to do other than finish the liner notes.  Next week will be getting the book designed and done and ready for me to do my final proofing, then we’ll enter those corrections, whatever they may be, and then it all goes into the publisher.  I’m also doing another of our Indiegogo coaching sessions, this one with dear reader Leslie’s very own Alexa.  After that, there will be two more of those to do and I’d like to get them out of the way in the next few weeks.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up early, do a workshop, eat, hopefully pick up some packages, write liner notes, and relax.  Today’s topic of discussion: Sushi.  I have never partaken of sushi save for California roll and shrimp, both of which are cooked, of course.  What are your favorite sushi things and which do you think a newbie like myself would enjoy and that wouldn’t make me want to vomit on the ground?  Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, hoping that working the musical theatre workshop will be fun.
