THE SATURDAY STUMBLE-THROUGH AND OTHER TWITCHY TALES

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, we had us a fun little stumble-through yesterday – certainly not the smoothest we’ve ever had, but this is really a fun show – it’s twitchy and bitchy and manic.  As has amusingly been prove time and again, when the first person up has a lyric fumfer right away, that pretty much assures that others will follow, and so it was. But everyone handled it fine and with frivolity and obviously it’s better at the stumble-through than the show itself. The first What If worked great but I’m not sure about my What If example that precedes it – so I may try to figure out another quickie I can do for that one.  The other two worked great.  This is a wonderful cast and the material is really interesting and fun.  So, after, I gave notes, we worked things, smoothed out some stuff, and then I was left to my own devices, such as my computer and my TV, two devices I always enjoy.

Prior to the stumble-through, I was up early, had a light breakfast of matzoh brei and fruit, picked up some packages, and then came back here and relaxed until it was time for the stumble-through.

Afterwards, I was left to my own devices, but prior to using said devices I rustled up two bean and cheese burritos of my own concocting.  I buy the Rosarita no-fat refried beans – the entire can, which I didn’t use all of, is a little over three hundred calories, so very friendly, and no fat grams.  I heated the beans in a saucepan, threw a few onions in, and then warmed up two flour tortillas (110 calories per), put the beans in, sprinkled some low-fat cheese, and voila – two bean and cheese burritos.  I ate them all up whilst doing some work on the computer and listening to music. Then I sat on my couch like so much fish.

Last night, I rested my voice whilst watching a six-episode “series” on the Flix of Net entitled Quicksand, a Swedish crime drama based on a best-selling Swedish book cleverly entitled Quicksand.  I did doze off a few times due to extreme tiredness (only got six-and-a-half hours of sleep), but it’s an enjoyable show, the lead actress is excellent, and while it does drag here and there a bit, six forty-five minute episodes is just about right for this story.  In fact, I’m on the final episode, which I’ll finish as soon as I finish writing these here notes.

Today, I’ll sleep in until eleven or noon o’clock, then I’ll relax and rest my voice until it’s time to get ready.  Then I’ll mosey on over to Vitello’s for our sound check and then we do our show.  I’m quite certain a few of us will go downstairs afterwards to get a bite to eat. I think we have a decent crowd, but I haven’t actually had an update in three days.

Tomorrow, I will relax, choose songs, catch up on stuff, and do whatever else needs doing.  Tuesday I have a lunch meeting, and the rest of the week is meetings and meals and locking in the May Kritzerland and getting everyone their music, although a couple of folks have already gotten theirs.  I think I may have to see a thing or two, and then we do our third and final workshop at the Group Rep on Saturday.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, sleep in, relax, rest my voice, maybe write a quickie What If example to replace the one I wasn’t thrilled with, get ready, do a soundcheck, do a show, and then have a bite to eat.  Today’s topic of discussion: It’s free-for-all day, the day in which you dear readers get to make with the topics and we all get to post about them.  So, let’s have loads of lovely topics and loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy to have had a good stumble-through with some cherce fumfers.
